We had the pleasure of spending two nights at The Seventeen Apartment over the Christmas Holiday. We came across the property as a result of eating at the on-site restaurant, "Holy Crepe". We had a great view of the properties buildings from the rooftop restaurant vantage. On the off chance of availability we went to the management office to discuss a two night stay at the end of our visit in Kampala. We had booked another Kololo Hill property we were not happy with, and were hoping to make a change, but we also knew it might be impossible during the Festive Season.||||The Management Team at The Seventeen was top-notch. They answered all our questions in person and online, and even met up with us on Christmas Eve to show us a property so we could see the layout. We were impressed, and booked our two nights on the spot.||||The two bedroom we were given was perfect, beautiful high vantage point overlooking all of Kampala. We had a beautiful balcony, WiFi, cable, modern kitchen, two bathrooms with beautiful waterfall shower heads and comfortable beds. The only down side was no air conditioning, but the cross breeze was great, and management provided us fans upon request.||||The pool was great, parking spot provided. One area to improve was the gym. We have two teenage sons who were looking forward to getting a workout, but the equipment overall was not functional and was located in a room without windows. In addition, there are a lot of stairs on the property, so for those we limited mobility it would be a challenge. ||||Otherwise the property was excellent! We loved the on-site restaurant, "Holy Crepe" too and ate there many times during our visit. ||||We look forward to making a return visit to The Seventeen at some point...
Read more· Great location- not far from town Affluent area & secure Accommodation is spacious & quite modern Panoramic views of the city Restaurant Customer service - Godwin the receptionist provided excellent service and was quick to assist with any queries or issues we had||||Disliked · Accomodation - ||neglected & in need of maintenance, - Alot of wear and tear on the furniture/kitchen work top - Bathroom sliding doors swinging off the hinges - Floor tiles are uneven, which caused me to trip numerous times. This posed a health and safety issue - Apartment is quite empty/ cold and doesn't give a homely feel. - Power cuts that lasted up to 2-3 hrs. I was informed on arrival by the manager. happened once during my 6 night stay, however it was an inconvenience.|||| Customer service - The restrictions are unreasonable and not all are listed on the booking site. - No visitors can visit you after 9pm, this wasn't clearly communicated to me upon arrival by the manager, and my visitors were turned away after travelling an hour to visit me. This was shocking and extremely upsetting to say the least. (This is not stated in the contract, which I never received due to the printer apparently not working). When I spoke to the manager she rudely dismissed me and didn't express any empathy or remorse. - When I had visitors they were constantly harassed by the night security when leaving and they kept asking them how many guests are in the apartment. I believe they were being instructed by the manager/owner of the...
Read moreStayed here for two nights with some family in 2018. We had a three bedroom two bathroom apartment with a great view of Kampala. ||||The apartment was very clean and had a well stocked kitchen for cooking including pots/pans, toaster, microwave, gas stove and kettle. ||||The bathrooms had nice waterfall style showers and comfortable clean towels. Bedrooms were spacious with king sized beds that are on the firm side, but that was fine for us. ||||Wifi is not included, you pay $5 per day if you want. Didn’t watch much TV but it seemed to have about 30 channels. The pool is nice and was clean with comfortable loungers to hang out in. Gym was ok to get the heart rate up but nothing for the serious gym rat. ||||Walking distance to Acacia Mall which has a good supermarket, coffee shop, movie theatre and shopping. Holy Crepe Restaurant was a good spot to grab coffee or a bite. Good location overall - safe and quiet. Staff were very friendly and helpful, really appreciated their hospitality. ||||Overall this is a good place for the price. Would stay here...
