LONG REVIEW

My experience at Divino on 13th Jan 2024 was HORRIBLE. I have been to Cantine Divino many times and have always had a great experience. So when my friend and I needed a girls' dinner date it was an easy choice.

We got there and were not seated by the hostess. You can overlook that, especially when you are not new to the place. However, we needed better seating and moved to a central table with better lighting and more room for our bags. The hostess (who btw watched us look around for where to move to and could overhear our conversation) then remembers to attend to us. She informs us that we can't sit on a 4 seater table because we are a party of two. She does this rudely, too. She points out three alternative tables and leaves us to sit ourselves.

We moved to a table we still didn't like and was not fully set up and lacked much of the silverware. We then observed that it was a slow night for the restaurant, and surely, us seating at the table for 4 we wanted wouldn't hurt. We also noticed a party of 4 seated on a 6-seater table (all white/Caucasian) that was not disrupted. There was a couple (black) clearly on a date occupying a 4-seater table that was seated by madam hostess herself. We wondered why we were getting such bad treatment. Now, we chose to go back to the 4-seater table.

Meanwhile, we noticed this same hostess only offered a smile (albeit a plastic one) to white or Asian customers.

A waitress (tall dark lady) was sent to clear the other 2 seat's silverware on our table. She did it so loudly and in demonstration. She asked to take our orders in a hurry and didn't care that we had no napkins, complimentary bread and bread and butter plate.

The food was delivered by a kind gentleman from the kitchen who listened to our concerns and took it upon himself to serve us, and serve us well. He redeemed the night and is the only reason my review is 2 stars.

Cantine Divino, PLEASE TREAT ALL CUSTOMERS EQUALLY AND TRAIN YOUR STAFF...

I was very disappointed by the customer service here. People had raved about the food, and it's very upscale, so I had high expectations for a really nice dinner. I ordered a burger, and everyone in my group got their meals except myself and one other who also ordered a burger (but a third person did get their burger). The waiter said our food was coming. He came back while everyone was eating and again said the burgers were coming. But by the time everyone was finishing their meals, we still hadn't gotten our food! One person went to talk to the chef, who admitted they ran out of burger buns. So... I guess they just were never going to bring us our food??? They could have come and told us that so we could either agree to use a different bread, no bread, order something different, anything but sit and stare at everyone else eating! She told him to use another type of bread and bring the food already! They did not make us pay for the meal, at least. The burger was...

Very disappointed again for the second time. First time was few months ago we were 7 ppl bought, expensive dishes, wine, drinks etc. The service was awful, no removal of finished dishes and glasses, the wine was warm.The worst was even when you complain no improvement. Last week I was there this time it was ok but probably because we sat right at the kitchen spot so they could not miss us. Tonight it was poor service from that you arrive no help to set a good table, even though booked in advance and the poor service continued throughout the entire dinner. Very Sour lady serving us, impolite, no attention to us or any details. No asking if we liked the food, no thank you, no cleaning up the table between dishes.l etc etc. Food was mediocre a super mushy ravioli type of pasta, Al Dente is probably not in the vocabulary, tasteless terrible.
