My recent experience at Hues Boutique Hotel was nothing short of disappointing. From the moment I arrived I was greeted with disappointment after disappointment.
Let's start with the breakfast buffet, which can only be described as very bad. Not only was the quality of the food poor, but the behavior of the staff overseeing the buffet was also downright ridiculous. It was as if they were hired just to monitor the amount of food the customer took. Their wary eyes and cold gaze made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I came to dine, not to be treated like a thief.
The lack of smiles and courtesy of the majority of the staff, including the front desk staff, is astounding. It is almost as if they are trained to act more like robots than humans, who will provide a welcoming atmosphere for guests. The only exception to this melancholy attitude is Alayna, a gem among unscrupulous employees. She works at the restaurant downstairs and is the only one who shows real friendliness and hospitality. Her efforts in interacting with guests and offering assistance are in stark contrast to the general attitude of the hotel staff.
Speaking of reception, their gratuitous stares made me feel like an alien. It's discouraging to see such disrespect and politeness. In all my travels, I have never encountered such unfriendly reception staff. However, the parking situation added another layer of frustration to my stay. With two basements available for parking, I expected convenience, but the design turned out to be a disaster. It's as if the hotel's architects never cared about the size of conventional vehicles. Navigating the narrow alleyways and misplaced pillars is a nightmare, and I couldn't help but notice the basement walls and columns were scratched by the efforts of moving cars. Every scratch on those walls seems to reflect the frustration of disgruntled customers who have endured this ordeal before me. Also, the basement car park appears to be used by staff as a smoking area. The pungent smell of smoke filled the air, making the experience all the more unpleasant for non-smokers like myself.
Even the opening hours of the pool are inconvenient, closing at 6pm when the weather is finally nice for swimming. This inappropriate timing further underscores the hotel's lack of attention to customer needs.
And the problem doesn't end there. The room I was assigned had many problems. Broken toilet seats are not only inconvenient, but also a matter of hygiene. The room had a strange smell that was hard to ignore which made me uncomfortable. The carpet has visible stains, which is a clear sign of a lack of proper maintenance. Adding to the list of disappointments, basic amenities like toothpaste and toothbrush were not provided, leaving me with no choice but to go out and buy it separately. Having stayed at many hotels in Dubai over the past year, I can say for sure that Hues Boutique Hotel is the worst of them all. The lack of value for money is evident in every aspect of the stay, from the incomplete breakfast buffet and unfriendly staff, to the poor parking condition, the use of the basement as a smoking area , unrealistic amenities and unsatisfactory rooms.
In summary, my experience at Hues Boutique Hotel was a series of disappointments. From the unappetizing breakfast buffet and unwelcoming staff, to the unpleasant parking situation, the use of the basement as a smoking area, the inconvenient amenities and an unsatisfactory room , the hotel did not meet even the most basic expectations. As individuals in the hotel industry, they are ironically the least hospitable. I strongly recommend anyone looking for a pleasant and friendly stay in Dubai to look elsewhere, as Hues Boutique Hotel clearly does not deliver a...
Read moreWhen the 5 of us got to the hotel and approached the reception we weren't greeted properly the guy at the desk wasn't really friendly wasn't smiling when we asked to split the bill he started complaining about it and showing annoyance openly complaining about it , After checking in we had to park our car in the extremely small and compacted underground parkings, they gave us only 1 of the 2 rooms we booked we walked in it wasn't properly cleaned with some stains on the carpet and the curtains and I did find some corn puffs or something under the chair and the flys are a nice touch , we go to the gym wich was surprisingly nice properly the best thing in the whole hotel after a quick work out at the gym we visited the swimming pool it was green sunshades are all broken and we had a couple of pigeons and crows as our life guard after the human one left, i went to taked a shower after swimming and had to keep the water running for about half an hour before getting hot water, we left for the day and obviously we came back tired and needed to sleep and that's why the guy at the reception decides to call us at 1:30AM to tell us that security told him that we brought extra people so the receptionist decides to call at 1:30AM INSTEAD OF CHECKING THAT WE ALREADY PAID FOR 2 ROOMS AND AN EXTRA BED which they didn't get any pillows for the extra bed that we paid extra for (100AED), we woke up went to have breakfast very limited option and low quality with no real coffe like how can a 4 star hotel have only instant coffe and no orange juice for breakfast only room temp water and the "chef" for the egges only gives 1 egg at a time even if u ask for multiple, and they had us waiting for our check-out for sometime and upon leaving there was no nice words because the staff aren't nice .
1- rudeness of reception staff 2- dirty rooms 3- low quality food 4- bad swimming pool 5- good gym 6- the toilet it self is very very small so it would be hard for bigger...
Read moreStayed here for 7 nights in December 2013. The hotel is very well presented and modern with very nice, large, modern rooms immaculately clean with good facilities. Each floor was finished in a different colour (mine being on the blue floor) giving a classy feel.
Sadly, under the pretty exterior, there were various problems. The pool in particular was a major let down. As well as the noise from the low flying aircraft (which wasn't a problem in the actual room) Photoshopping has clearly been used on the website to turn a cheap, small gym pool into a first class roof top bathing heaven. The green effect given by the tiles is cleaver, but pointless when a large back wall prevents the sunshine getting to the sunlounger area for most of the day. A MAJOR redesign is needed here.
Additionally, the staff, although they were a friendly (allowing me to check in early) there was a distinct lack of organisation. A number of times i left the top bar asking for my purchases to be charged to my room only for a staff member to turn up at my door 10 mins later to ask for my signature. Took three phone calls to room service to order something as simple a a fruit platter.
Location is not great, 15min taxi ride (60-70durens) to the nearest beaches. Was not informed of the shuttle service they provided to central Dubai until i suggested it would be useful when i checked out (lot of money wasted on subway tickets...cheers!).
Food was OK but nothing to write home about. Breakfast was fine, but the evening meal was always a buffet with much the same generic selection.
Also some strange rules on dress in both the top floor bar and the 'Mistakes' bar. Don't understand why guests have to dress in specific way to visit a bar in their OWN hotel...
I'm sure these problems can be sorted over time, but afraid i can't fully recommend HUES in its present 'style...
