Will not eat here again!!! Food was tasteless and bland. Appalling management. Experience was poor. Only saving grace was the server who was very professional and a credit to the company. Experience in more detail: we were curtly spoken to from a lady behind the bar who stated someone would be with us in a minute. After a few minutes, the server sat myself,my partner and our 5 year old boy by the exit door that everyone was using to leave the pub that slammed after every person left. It was freezing cold. We ordered our drinks and waited for 20 minutes, before my partner went and spoke to a man to ask if we could be moved to a warmer area and away from the exit door. The man took us to a table that was in a quieter area, however it was freezing cold and excess furniture was stored next to the table and was not screened off. When the drinks was brought to us, we then asked if we could be placed to a more appropriate table. At which point the male worker became intimidating, rude and defensive and suggested that we had complained about everything and that we were shouting at him. At which point I was appalled due to the fact that I have worked in a high position running a 32 bedded ward in a hospital and dealing with upset patients and reminded him that I spoke to him in a calm and quiet tone and in a respectful way. He bluntly stated he had forgot to screen off the furniture and he would do it straight away. Due to the male worker blantent rude and uncalled for attitude I asked to speak to the manager and was shocked to find out that he was allegedly it. I requested politely his name and he stated it was Joe. We were served our food and the female server who was called Sarah, apologised for Joe's behaviour and stated that she witnessed what had transpired and that i never shouted at Joe but spoke calmly and reasonably to him and that she would adjust the bill accordingly. I was so upset by the behaviour of Joe that I was brought to tears. After we had finished our meal, which was bland and tasteless and drinks. We were no way going to order desserts due to how uncomfortable we were made to feel by Joe we requested the bill. Sarah came back and explained that she had discussed what happened with Holly a team leader on shift, who was appalled at the experience we had and cleared the bill. We did not want Joe or the establishment to feel we had deliberately been complaining to receive a reduced bill, that is not what we as a family are like so insisted on paying the full bill anyway. We as a family do not like to complain, however, felt we had no alternative. The hand sanitiser dispenser was empty when we were leaving the pub. We also like to give credit where it is due and would like to say that both Holly and Sarah are a credit to the company and were incredibly professional. We have our experience one star to acknowledge this. We feel Joe should attend a customer training course in managing a complaint, because he demonstrated how unprofessional he was and how inexperienced he was with dealing with one. We had a long journey today and felt disappointed, with how the day finished. I have taken photos of the tables we were sat at.

Not the best today, such a shame.we normally like going to Butterly Park but today was a real letdown, the staff at the front of house are great but to be fair the kitchen staff need to get their act together. You do not give burnt offerings to customers if you want recommending. All the roast potatoes where black and hard as they had been over cooked. The meat portions have gone very small and other vegetables where dry and not overly appetising. Such a shame as it is normally a good venue, if you cannot get the basics right then it’s a poor show, I was asked by the waitress if all was ok, I was honest and said it was not it’s best but did not do this to get money off and paid my bill in full, I just think they need to relook at what they are serving to people and if you show a picture of a nice looking meal, it would be nice to receive that what is shown.

Was given dirty plate. After I refused the very dirty plates I was "asked "Is this one clean enough for you" I said no it's still dirty. To which nothing was offered. I said fine I will come back when there's new plates. I came back the new plates where also dirty. I asked if there were any others and was just looked at. I was forced to eat off a dirty plate or not at all. The food itself varies. Yoirkshire pudding was nice , even though some where burnt the carrots were good. The beef was okay. The potato and turnips where floury and not crispy and undercooked. As was the cauliflower cheese. I complained to management and they did apologize but people should be aware. Eating off of plates crusted with dirt and wet dirt is a healthy and safety issue and when I addressed iy the replacement was also dirty. Waitress was good.

Not quite sure where to start, we come here alot and have never had a bad meal but the last two times we have been 8th November and again on Christmas Eve the meal on the 8th November it was my husbands gammon that was inedible but mine and my mothers scampi was lovely so we just put it down to an off day, but on Christmas Eve having had this booked in since September we where put in the end section where a young lady took ages to come to our table for our order for the starters, there was four of us three had prawn cocktails, 1 had then chicken starter, I have never had a prawn cocktail that consisted only of leaves not (iceberg lettuce) but tasteless leaves, no cucumber, no tomatoe, with a few prawns on top, it wasn't nice at all we all three left it only picking off the prawns, apparently the chicken was nice, the mains, it took quite a while for the young lady to realise that we had finished and she could come and clear away and bring the main courses, one had off the menu and three had the festive, my husband had the fish and chips, the fish batter was apparently not cooked and the fish was cold, ine had the festive burger which was lovely, two had the Christmas dinner, the turkey was awful we both tried a tiny bit and left the rest, the pigs in blankets where inedible, the only thing we did eat on the entire plate was a bit of roast potato and the Yorkshire pudding, we asked the young lady if she could clear the table as we where done and the meat we would like to take home for the dog, and we would like to order desserts, she took away two plates and didn't return after a good 10 - 15 minutes later I went to go up to the bar to order as we really wanted to go, she saw me as she was stood talking, she came then to the table and said she had forgotten about us, she took our dessert orders, the desserts where lovely when they came out. We would normally leave a tip but with the service we got and the food as it was we didn't, if the restaurant had been busy I could have understood the waiting but it wasn't at all busy we have been in when it has been alot busier and never had to wait like we did Christmas Eve and we have also been two other Christmas Eves and they had been great as well has the food not quite sure...
