My wife and I have just returned from a two night stay in Arundel. After forty four years of travelling around the World throughout our marriage, Rosie's (and James's) town house ticks all the boxes....superb.||The accommodation: It is a comfortable town house with half a dozen rooms. The decoration is warm, fresh and welcoming. They must have had top London decorators, it's perfect.||On the street position? This immediately comes to mind, but the street is one way and not busy. We enjoyed a perfect night's sleep.||The rooms (we peeked in others, with permission): Have large and comfortable beds and pillows with new, fresh bedding. The shower and bathroom are modern, equipped and extremely clean. In fact everywhere is spotless. There is tea and coffee making facilities with biscuits and fresh carafe of water for the evening.||Extras: The is a very comfortable ground floor for you to sit and relax, read, play a game etc. You can make a hot drink, enjoy a piece of fruit, put your wine/purchases in the fridge...enjoy.||Breakfast: The next door cafe for breakfast works really well. This isn't a greasy spoon caf' with Nosher eating his egg butty in the corner. It's staffed with a team of warm servers, who offer the best menu and service in town. The two businesses have a symbiotic relationship that really works ps buy a couple of their speciality pasties and take them with you on your days out.||Rosie : Rosie is a young, energetic, passionate hostess who only wants guests to enjoy their stay. Nothing is too much trouble and is ever helpful. She is warm to chat to and stands out in an Industry, suffering at times from indifference to guests.||Arundel: This is a brilliant town to visit. The architecture and quality of houses are outstanding. The Castle and Cathedral are worth a visit along with other medieval features.|There are a huge range of good eateries...Including Italian and Chinese.|Do try the pubs particularly St Mary's Gate Inn which serves superb traditional dishes and fine English ale. ||As a base: From Arundel you can visit Chichester Harbour, Chichester, other coastal towns, the nearby wetland centre, inland villages and other castles.||Oh..and parking: Don't be put off by parking your car in the large Mill Street next to the River. It costs £5 for all day and night sade parking. We easily wheeled our overnight bags across to Rosie's...40 seconds. Nowhere in town has parking, it's a medieval town.||Conclusion: Rosie's House is a warm and welcoming place to enjoy a stay and base. It's not the flashiest of places but an extremely clean and comfortable home from home, that you will remember long after you leave ps we live in a £800K detatched house overlooking the River Dee, with open views across the fields to the...
Read moreWe are currently staying at House Arundel, and I honestly can’t recommend it enough. The location is absolutely perfect, right at the foot of the majestic Arundel Castle — you step outside, and the heart of the town is just there. The house itself is beautifully decorated, with incredible attention to detail and guest comfort. It’s cosy, stylish, and full of authentic character. We stayed in the Queen room, which had an exceptionally comfortable mattress and pillows, and the bed linen was of outstanding quality — it felt like sleeping in a luxury boutique hotel. Everything you might need is provided, and all of it is high quality: from bathrobes and a good hairdryer to an iron and ironing board, not to mention the lovely tea set that added a special touch to our evenings. Rosie and James are fantastic hosts — warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. Their kindness made our stay even more special. We came just the two of us — myself and my daughter — to celebrate her 9th birthday, and were touched to find a surprise waiting in our room: birthday balloons and a cheerful atmosphere that made her feel truly special. The shared lounge area is beautifully designed, with cosy corners to read, play board games, or enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. This is the perfect place to stay in the heart of Arundel and explore the town and surrounding countryside. We’ll definitely be back — next time with my husband and son too!
Thank you, Rosie and James, for creating such a wonderful place. House Arundel is...
Read moreWhat a little gem in the centre of the town!! From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave you feel very welcome and super comfortable. It is a combination of many factors. Including friendly, welcoming owners who took over the space 3 months before we visited and turned the old tea room into beautiful, cosy, livingroom like space that you just sink into, whilst listening to a soft jazz playing in the background, sipping delicious wine and tasting delicious platter of local sorced produce. If you don't know what to get not to worry as you can count on some great recommendations. Cheese and meat selection which was absolutely devine was accompanied by pickles, couple of homemade chutneys, and soda bread totally delicious!!! Few grapes and olives would make it heavenly:) I definitely recommend this place for pre or post dinner tasting. They also have rooms upstairs which I definitely think are worth exploring to create a perfect...
