No hot running water...AGAIN. (I have contacted this hotel 3 times privately and got no response).
My partner and I stayed in this hotel last year around the same time, to which we had no running hot water in our room because of an issue with the boiler, as told by staff at reception. After the disappointing stay last year, we were offered a complimentary stay to which we stayed last week. To our disbelief, we had the same problem this year, a year later, where we had no hot water.
After ringing reception we were told the same thing as last year, that there was a problem with the boiler and it was due to be fixed. We waited an hour and still had no hot water, to which we were then late to breakfast, still not showered. After speaking to other guests in the corridor, they also complained to us that they had no hot water and told us they also didn't have any on Monday either (Easter Monday). One guest said she couldn't bath her 3 month old baby due to the freezing water.
We appreciated the complimentary stay we were offered and the upgraded room was lovely, but it is completely unacceptable not to be able to wash when staying at a four star hotel that offers both bath and shower facilities that guests are unable to use, due to having no hot water. We do not want another complimentary night stay. We are driving a 2 hour journey each way for this to happen, again. I would...
Read moreWent for a meal tonight in the terrace restaurant.. friendly staff and helpful..the food side off the experience was utterly disappointing to put it politely. Ceaser salad for starter priced at £8.25. Very very dissapointing and small considering the price. The wifes starter was a duck spring roll also priced £8.25, one duck spring roll covered in some sort off mayo. Packed with mushy and I assume frozen duckas the texture was like cat food. A few spring onions in it and 1 or 2 slices off red onion/pepper. Totally a catastrophic spring roll considering I've tried many elsewhere. The mains, mine a need burger priced at almost £14. I asked for a burger fully dressed with everything on it. The burger arrived with a beef Pattie in a bun with a bit off melted cheese. That's it. No lettuce tomato nothing. And the smallest side of the most weird and sloppy coleslaw if that's what it was meant to be. Again so mushy had to be taken from a freezer and defrosted. The wifes steak sandwich also priced at £14 almost. Half a ciabbata with a few cuts off rough rump steak. The ciabbata was soggy any chewy and so unenventful and tasteless. At these prices I would highly recommend trying elsewhere in enniskillen town to eat. I've ate in most restaurants in town and by far this was probably the most unappealing and let down I've had in town in the...
Read moreHave had a really poor night sleep here and am unfortunately likely to have another tomorrow. I am writing this at 02:30 because I woke up due to stifling room temperatures. I had the window open all evening and when I went to sleep (it barely opens) but that made no difference. I have also had the table fan going, but all that did was blow dust around me rather than cooling the room. This place needs aircon as there is no airflow at all.
The room is poorly equipped for modern life: there are no usb sockets, and weirdly there are three sockets (two of which are at the bed) that aren't standard UK-plug. No idea what they fit, but they've round holes. This then means that only one side of the bed has standard plugs (a double socket) to be used to charge up your phone or device. Or to plug the fan into to try to keep cool in the stuffy room.
Also, the over-mirror light in the bathroom keeps flickering even though the light is turned off.
On the plus side, reception staff were very helpful at check-in and when I noted the restaurant couldn't accommodate dietary restrictions and to ensure dinner was not billed, so really the only issue is that the room needs modernisation with climate control. And actual UK plug sockets. So confused about those...
