Local favourite. Great choice of food at any time of day and good quality. Decent portion sizes. Can be very busy, even on a Monday morning, which can sometimes make the place feel quite crowded and cramped, depending on where you are seated, though better than no atmosphere. At peak times you can be looking at a short wait for a table. Staff are friendly and attentive. Bills are paid at the counter which can be crowded at times as they also do fantastic takeaway selections. Also has free WiFi and in the drier months, there's the option to sit at tables out front. From a personal perspective the only downside is lack of parking though many just seem to park outside along the main road.

We were here today for breakfast and wow. We all had the full Scottish breakfast. I had the scrambled egg with both black and fruit pudding. The fruit pudding was absolutely delicious, best I have ever had. Even the toast was brilliant. I had hot chocolate which was amazing. I think we have found a new favourite place to eat. Staff can never do enough for you.

Had a great breakfast experience here! The server was happy to make me a custom breakfast for my special diet. Great food quality. They open at 9am on a Sunday, which is great for travelers. I'm coming back!

I would definitely not recommend this place!

I went in today (Sunday) and followed the sign for take away orders. The girl at the desk then half opened a bottle of coke (which I told her not to do as I wanted to take it away and not opened).

Then I ordered a chicken and ham pizza. There was no option on the system for this as bizarrely you can only order a bbq chicken pizza. However, she typed into the notes 'no bbq - normal chicken only' (I knew this was a recipe for disaster as kitchen staff aren't known for their reading and writing skills). However, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and didn't think that they could muck this simple order up... (famous last words).

Sure enough, after a 10 - 15 minute wait I drove all the way home (taking another 10 minutes - stopping at 2 temporary traffic lights along the way) and when I opened the box the stench of bbq hit me! Couldn't believe it!

I took it straight back and asked for my money back, the girl who served me (tanned skin, think she was some kind of supervisor) said they could make another one but I said I didn't have time and wanted a refund!

She ignored me after that and didn't say another word; No apologies, couldn't care less, treated me like I was the nuisance, blah, blah, blah (usual callous attitude toward paying customers treating us with nothing but contempt).

This is the second time in a row they have got an order wrong as last time I was there I asked for an extra chilli dip with my chicken tempura, and when I got home no extra dip to be found!

All in all, a terrible place which clearly has managers and supervisors that couldn't care about customers, an ordering system that doesn't take into account not everyone likes bbq chicken and kitchen staff that can't read and write properly!

Avoid!!!

(* Update *)

The response from the owner clearly shows a total disregard for my complaint and exposes their total hostility and contempt for customers! Where on Earth did I exhibit ANY personal attacks on staff members???

I merely expressed my experience with them!

The owners response here is totally defensive and not conciliatory, clearly he/she defends terrible customer service! The fact that I was ignored and no apologies were forthcoming when they were the ones in the wrong is something that the owner clearly instils in his staff as being acceptable!

Again, I say AVOID this place because when anything does go wrong (and it will) you can see what will happen... the staff will gang up on you and it will all be your fault!

Horrendous attitude! Truly...

We come here twice while on holiday with friends from republic of Ireland, we arrived with a party of 7 the place was relatively busy not overcrowded but popular enough to assume it was a nice place to have a bite to eat.

We reached the front desk or podium as I called it the little stand to wait to be seated as a female member of staff asked how many .. we stated 7 knowing there wasn't any tables big enough I expected to be split into two tables. I was wrong they actually re-arranged the tables and chairs in the busy Cafe to accommodate our size which I think was absolutely brilliant !. This happens both times we visited.

When seated we were given menus and just the right amount of time to have a look before being asked for what we wanted . Having 3 Irish guests I was expecting something to come wrong or something missing but not a thing everything was perfectly what we ordered and was also brought to us very quickly.

The food was absolutely phenomenal which is why we obviously returned for second time. ( I highly recommend their haggis and chutney panini ) the chips were made in heaven and the Cajun wrap smelled like the freshest peppers you have ever smelled it was all very pleasant on the nose and tongue.

I will assume all the staff is not family however every single one of them were very friendly and always had a smile and I joked around with one of the staff aswell great to see they also have humor. This cafe felt like a family run business, they all looked like they enjoy working together and bring a very welcome and homely vibe to the cafe.

We were all relatively young guests from 7 to 35 but was great to see a mix of old and young in there and everyone treated the same, forever rearranging furniture to fit people in aswell. This is now my favorite place to eat in ayr 5* I would recommend here to anyone and already have done.

Thanks to the friendly staff for the amazing food and kind service much appreciated. We will be back in June when we return to Craig tara prepare your furniture...
