We stayed here at Bowness bay suites in the Hilltop suite. This is situated on the top floor so you have to go up 3 small flights of stairs. We picked this suite specifically for the views as you have a view of Bowness lakeside and Windermere lake and the Bellsfield hotel gardens from the French windows in the lounge, then you have a view of a quiet road with a pub and cottages from the bedroom window. |This suite is open planned, cosy, warm and roomy. I loved the baroque style decor in the bedroom with a full length mirror a huge bed with gorgeous bedding. Bathroom has a towel rail that you switch on from just outside the bathroom door and underfloor heating, a bath with overhead shower. |The lounge was comfy. Sofa was a bit too low for me but was cute and comfy. |There is a small fridge which we stocked up our drinks and snacks. A kettle with a generous supply of milk, tea etc is provided. We didn’t opt for the breakfast as we planned on having a lazy lie-in so we can’t give an opinion on that. |We were given a very friendly and warm welcome by the two gentlemen that run Bowness bay suites. |This hidden gem is tucked just up the hillside behind the village Inn pub and is literally a 1 minute walk to the lakeside and shops.|Would we stay here again? Absolutely!|We found this place on a 3rd party booking site but if you’re a savvy shopper then book direct through their private website as I saved myself...

Thank you to Howie who made the booking process easy. We were made to feel very welcome when we arrived even though it was late. Martin was very helpful with any questions we needed to ask. The hallway was beautifully decorated with plenty of leaflets on places to visit. We stayed in the langdale suite which was beautifully decorated with attention to detail. There was milk in the fridge with tea, coffee and biscuits waiting for us. The suite and bathroom was clean and tidy. There was a sofa, coffee table and TV at one end of the room with another TV near the bed. I liked that we had a separate area to sit in the suite. There was a safe with an iron and ironing board which was handy to have. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The only one thing that would've be handy was to have another hand towel for us ladies with long hair. But having said that I wouldn't change a thing.|Bowness is a lovely picturesque place to stay with plenty of shops, cafés and restaurants all within a few minutes walk.|Thank you to Howie and Martin for alllowing us to stay and making us feel welcome.|We would lovely to visit bowness some day and would highly recommend...

Is this a racist hotel? Due to some schedule problems, I could not arrive at the hotel very early, but I drove as fast as possible on the way from Edinburgh. Most importantly, I called the hotel twice in advance, explaining that I would arrive at 11:30 to check in, and the hotel said that he would wait for my arrival. However, when I arrived at 11:30, the landlord came out and scolded us and told us that the reservation had been canceled, and his attitude was very, very bad. There were two middle-aged men in total, their expressions were very fierce, and they treated us with a very bad attitude after the trip. As a young girl, it was difficult not to be afraid when facing such a scene in a foreign country. As the hotel did not inform us of the cancellation in advance, and only on short notice after we arrived, where the humanitarian was, it was hard not to suspect that they were racist towards us. The last-minute cancellation left me with nowhere to go for a night in Windermere, and I really don't recommend booking this hotel unless you want a scary, racist experience...

Bowness Bay Suites is an absolute gem of a place, the rooms are much bigger and more beautiful than they look on the pictures. We booked to stay for 2 nights in Cat Bells Suite, this is on the top floor and has a great view of the lake without being too close, the bed is very comfy too which is needed after a day walking. The location is great, just 5 minutes from the lake and down the road from shops and restaurants but despite being so close it's really quiet in the room. We opted to get a parking permit and were able to collect it on arrival to Bowness prior to check in which was great. The car park is a 4-5 minute walk from the hotel and we stopped outside to pick the parking permit up before heading to the car park. Everyone who we spoke to via messages and in person was very helpful. We will definitely stay again when visiting the Lake District.

I'd live here if I could! Adults only with no dogs allowed. A real one-off in the centre of Bowness. Perfect location. Lost a star due to the lateness of telling us the codes to enter the property. We had set off from home and were already in the lakes (not a good signal area) before they sent our codes to get in. We received them at 11.30am on the day of arrival despite booking the break weeks before. *There's no reason for this - i have hotel accommodation with exactly the same entry system. It just causes anxiety to the customer.

The location and the view from our room was absolutely lovely. However, for this price point and the way the hotel is advertised I do expect a certain standard and unfortunately our bed was incredibly uncomfortable. The mattress and pillows looked and felt like they hadn't been changed in ages. I woke up with a stiff back every morning. Also, don't expect too much from the "breakfast" hamper, it's a few packs of cereal and 2 packaged brioche buns.
