Great location and views looking across the lake. Visited twice on the day, has the makings of a really good venue just a shame that some of the staff let the place down. First visit around lunchtime, ordered at the bar and to be fair to the barman, he overcharged but put his hand up straight away and rectified the mistake. All good but what did surprise us was the way the lady who processed the refund spoke to him in front of a busy bar, totally unprofessional and uncalled for. Second visit later in the evening, great live music and atmosphere, issue this time was the door person, one of our party stepped outside to place a takeaway food order as too noisy to hear inside only to not be let back in as mistakenly identified as a âtroublemakerâ heading that way from a call over the radio as he was wearing a black puffer coat (as were half of the town that evening), again unprofessional in her role, swearing at a member of the public first who was with family and escalating an issue that would easily have been resolved if bothered to get the facts right first and failed to remain calm to de-escalate. View your camera footage and learn from your mistakes. All in all spoiled the evening and as regular visitors will think twice before returning. Also find the...
Read moreWe went here on Sunday 29th December. The service was appalling and due to that I wouldnât recommend. We arrived in the evening with two dogs (the restaurant is dog friendly) and went to sit in the conservatory area. I asked a female waitress whether we should sit down or whether we would just be seated. The lady was extremely rude and told us to sit on a two seater. I tried to explain that all the two seaters were in the middle of the restaurant whereas there was a four seat table in the corner. Given we had two dogs I asked whether we could sit out of the way. I explained the 4 seater table could simply be moved into a two and a two. We eventually sat down in the corner as she just began ignoring me. A rude man then came over and asked to move to one of the 2 seaters in the middle, again I had to explain why we was sat there. The customer service was absolutely appalling. Then a couple with a dog came in just after us and spoke to a different waiter who was so much more understanding and accomodating.
We had two chicken burgers. I asked for no sauce on one, however, both burgers came with sauce.
It costs us around ÂŁ50 and I honestly wouldnât recommend due to the service. We come to Windermere often and this is the worst restaurant we...
Read moreThe outside deck is a stunning place to sit and watch the world go by with a fantastic view of the lake. We were put off by one issue though. One night we were told we they were closing the downstairs bar. We were welcome to carry on sitting outside where we were, they were just informing us that we would have to use the upstairs bar to get more drinks. No problem there. However a few days later we stopped by for food. As the weather forecast predicted rain, and the skies were mirroring that prediction, we went to the upstairs bar, which is inside. We were then told that they were currently only serving food at the downstairs bar. We said we don't want to sit outside because it looks like rain, and the advise was to sit under an umbrella if it starts raining. Granted those umbrellas are quite large, but no match for the British weather when it wants to rain. Who wants to sit under a brolly in the rain when we could be sat inside. We were so baffled. Are you open inside or out, upstairs or downstairs? There doesn't seem to be any logic to it. They lost us as...
