We were travelling from Southampton - Llanelli then back to Bridgend before travelling on to Newport then back to Southampton in 2 days. I wanted somewhere conveniently situation off the motorway and easily accessible to a family member living near by. Our check-in at 4pm by Bethany was very welcoming and friendly and informative. Our rooms (2) were just through reception as we needed a disabled room. I had trouble with the key card so went back to reception. Bethany recoded the key but instead of just giving it to me, she escorted me to the room to make sure it worked - it did of course! The room was lovely and warm, clean, welcoming and basic - No frills but then you'd only pay for it! We went out for the evening to visit family and Bethany was still on duty on our return at 8.20pm. We replenished our tea/coffee/milk etc from reception and just wanted to now relax after a long days driving. I turned on the tv only to find we had No remote. I returned to reception informing Bethany, who apologised and very quickly brought a spare to our room. On trying the different channels it appeared there was a signal problem :( I returned to reception again informing Bethany of the problem. She apologised again and said she'd need to find the instruction manual and try and retune it. Moments later there was a knock at the bedroom door and it was Bethany, not with an instruction manual but with another, larger tv. :) She replaced it and it worked perfectly, I was all ready to now chill - GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. The bed was warm and comfortable - would I stay here...
Read moreThe room is basic providing a bed tv and shower. My partner was told by receptionist to make sure we don’t leave anything valuable in the rooms as the cleaners are known to steal. Which meant for the 3 days we were there we had to pack everything up and put this into the car then we got home unload it all again. No security and massive safety concerns. There was no wifi provided to us for the duration of the stay. We left the clean me sign on the door at 0600am when we had to leave for work and also spoke to reception who said it would be cleaned and new towels will be replaced. Came home after 13 hours to it looking the exact same. We even put all the rubbish bins and towels by the door to make it easier for them. When we got back the window has been left open and the tv turned off at the wall-which wasn’t done by us. So somebody has been in the room. The air vents in the rooms are blocked with dirt and don’t work, there is rust around the shower and it leaks onto the floor badly!! Which they must be aware of as there is a sign in the shower saying shower mats will be provided upon stay-which they weren’t also?? We got back after the 2nd day to find the room smelling like urine -drains?? There is no privacy in the bathroom as the door doesn’t close due to the design let alone lock there is no functional handle The lights on our bed panel don’t work This...
Read moreConfused by some misleading reviews on here. Was expecting a good experience. One thing I did agree with was the convenience of the area and also the staff who were very welcoming. Reception had a good selection of snacks||Paid just over £100 for our one night stay, which was only £20 cheaper than Premier Inn, but the rooms are significantly different and the breakfast non-existent. Saw a toaster and some tea bags, milk in packets etc in reception, that must have been it! Needless to say that we didn’t even bother and had to go elsewhere to eat breakfast. (Found out online that breakfast is just a little box)||The room, whilst budget, was in a poor state. The bathroom door wouldn’t close, the room smelt musky and a little TLC would easily make it better. Maybe a few extra pillows in the room would have made it more comfortable, but the bed was more than comfortable, so slept well. ||The second child’s bed was actually just a mattress on the floor, so be aware of that before you book. Thankfully our child was small enough.||Want to charge your phone in 2025? Good luck! Limited plug sockets and nowhere near the bed. Also already needed for fan and TV. ||Really disappointed that I didn’t book the other hotel where we could have had a breakfast and air con. So disappointed. Budget doesn’t have to mean...
