Stayed here for business nearby and not a great experience at all. Firstly no air con, so when warm you have to open the windows and being on a roundabout means you get all the traffic and lorries doing deliveries from about 4am followed by the thick smell of fried food from the kitchen which wasn't even near me! The bed feels smaller than the ones they used to use and only basic pillows now and to me it looks like the "upgrade" rooms are what Premier Inn used to be, but now they charge extra for it!
The premium WIFI you pay extra for didn't work, support responded quickly with "yeah its bad nothing we can do and also you need to go speak to someone else to get it refunded" and was a pain to get a refund.
The sink in the bathroom was jammed shut so had to brush teeth etc in the shower.
Staff were friendly however and easy parking which is why the 2*.
I did reach out to customer service, they gave an incredibly generic reply and kept saying rule 12 means no refunds (I hadn't even asked for one but they must have mentioned it at every point as the solution!!!!).
I even had a call with someone from Customer Services who told me he would follow up with the hotel and reach out if any improvements are made. Never heard back so assume no improvements made and nothing resolved!
I used to find Premier Inn fine for basic stays, but now I'm not sure, it feels like cost cutting measures have really ruined it and not getting a good nights sleep should be the main benchmark, which I didn't get and as someone who travels a lot around the world, the basic benchmark for a hotel in my view is a good nights sleep! Its made me rethink using Premier Inn for sure if this is the way the...

Stayed in Family Room 116 on Night 1. Room was clean and tidy, couldn't fault that. However around midnight the bathroom had such a vile smell of sewage which even when we closed the door was so bad it kept us up most of the night. This was the same for Room 115 which a friend was staying in. I mentioned it to reception and the staff were great, they offered us all a free breakfast which was worth £20 and changed our room for us and told us to contact Guest Relations who were happy to refund us.
Stayed in Room 112 on Night 2 and again couldn't fault the cleanliness of the room, all was neat and tidy. Our checkout was at 12pm, We returned to the room to use the facilities before we head back home and our toiletries that we left in the bathroom had been binned by the cleaner. We had not checked out and we returned to the room 11.40am. NOT ACCEPTABLE. we were happy for the cleaner to clean the room for the next guest but dont throw away anything until we have checked out.
Free WiFi was very poor - 0.50Mbps = 75kbps (Dail-up Speeds, VERY POOR) Ultimate WIFi (£5 / 24hours) was poor - 4-6Mbps = 0.50 - 0.75 MB/s - (Standard Wifi can just about stream 1080p Video)
[Most home Fibre connections UK - 40 - 100Mbps = 5 - 12.5MB/s]

Read moreWe stayed on Saturday 17th August and while the hotel itself was fine in terms of appearance and the room was quiet and well appointed, there were a couple of issues we encountered on our stay which mean we will not be returning to this hotel.
On arrival the car park was so full as to force us to temporarily park in Sainsbury's car park and hope that a space became available in the hotel prior to our heading out for the evening. This proved to be the case but was entirely dependent upon luck. The hotel desperately needs to improve the provision of parking for paying guests.
One of our party was also charged an additional room in error and was advised she could only have this refunded once it appeared on her bank statement. We didn't believe this for a minute but the person on reception didn't seem to know what they were doing so we decided to arrange for the details to be passed on to the next shift and hope they were better informed. When we followed up with other staff at shift change the issues had not been communicated and we were advised that none of the staff could figure out what their colleague had done in order that it might...
