Review:
Loraine and her colleague at the desk were extremely helpful, providing clear directions to my room and explaining the restaurant facilities. This was a much better experience compared to my stay at Hull Central, where staff simply handed me a keycard and left me to figure things out.
The hotel is quiet, although this may depend on the room’s location. I stayed on the ground floor in Room 24, which is across from a Wendy’s. While the hotel is pleasant overall, it feels outdated and in need of renovation. The rooms are quite basic, and there’s no premium option available, which is disappointing. On the positive side, the water pressure was excellent, and the shower was great. The cleanliness was acceptable, but the tired appearance detracts from the experience.
Breakfast was a highlight, with a lovely selection of food, friendly staff, and plenty of seating, making it an enjoyable start to the day.
The parking is another major plus. The car park is large, free, and conveniently available. During my four-night stay, I never had an issue finding a space, and I was told it’s unlikely they’ll introduce charges in the future.
The restaurant experience was inconsistent. The menu lacked variety and healthier options, which was frustrating as a long-term guest trying to eat well. While some meals, like the grilled chicken burger and ribs, were enjoyable, there were issues with hairs in the food. The fish and chips were mediocre, with terrible mushy peas, even though I requested garden peas. Food service was slow, and collection times were often inaccurate.
The location is a standout feature. The hotel is adjacent to a modern retail park with an Asda, which includes a post office, key-cutting service, and McDonald’s. The retail park also features shops like M&S Foodhall, Matalan, Sports Direct, TK Maxx, Boots, Argos, OneBelow, JD Sports, TUI, Costa, Subway, and Greggs. Nearby, there’s also a Virgin Multiplex and a David Lloyd Leisure Centre, making it a convenient spot for shopping and leisure.
Summary: The hotel stands out for its friendly staff, great breakfast, excellent water pressure, and convenient location near shops and leisure facilities. However, it feels outdated, with basic rooms and a limited restaurant menu that lacks healthy options. Cleanliness issues (finding hairs in meals) and slow service detract from the dining experience, though the free and ample parking is a...
Read moreI have just stayed here for one night I had a work meeting and arrived 5 minutes past the check out time. I explained to the lady on reception apologies for the late arrival we will just be getting our stuff together and leaving shortly. I had two small children, 4 and 6, I nipped to the bathroom and before I could leave I had another knock on the door saying ' we need to leave' by this point by husband had already put one suitcase in the car so she clearly saw we were In the process of leaving. We had overstayed by 20 minutes at this point. The next thing we know she knocks on our door again and 3 workmen barge into our room whilst me and my small children were still in the room. Scaring my family and telling us to leave 'now'. I am completely shocked at the way we were treated,I appreciate we had gone slightly over checkout time and we were in the process of leaving but to have workmen barge into your room claiming to fix a plug that was urgent to fix there and then and yet it wasn't urgent whilst we were staying there,is beyond me. My children were scared, the maintenance man was rude. Whilst this was all happening I called a customer service representative at premiere inn head office as I was so shocked by the way they'd handle this she also witnessed the terrible way we had been treated!!! Awful stay, Annie at reception clearly needs to be reminded she's a receptionist and not a bouncer! Were not squatters who weren't going to leave! I've stayed at plenty premiere inn hotels over the years and have never experienced such an awful and distressing experience both for me and my family. I was on the phone to customer services whilst this was all occurring and they heard it all. Nomatter what the situation no random men should be barging into people's rooms whilst families and customers are still in there! Absolutely...
Read moreI have been staying at this Premier Inn every other month for the past 10-15 years and this is the first time i have had an cause for complaint. On arrival we were booked in to our assigned accessible room (room 4). When we entered the room we were astounded to see the condition of the room - Bed not made up, dirty towels strewn across the bed and bathroom, the bin was full and overflowing and there was a lot of debris across the floor. The bathroom was dirty and the sink was full of dirty tepid water.||When i went to the reception to report it, the receptionist looked at the cleaning rota and although she apologised as she thought it had been done, she immediately spotted what had happened. ||it took about 35-40 minutes to find another room but this was on the first floor (109) and was not an accessible room. On entering this room it was without tea/coffee & there was no fan in the room (this hotel has not air conditioning and all rooms have fans). we retrieved one from the original room but when i picked it up (with the receptionist there) it came apart in my hands!!!||On the first morning we decided to have breakfast and that turned out to be a mistake also - the food was cold and had been out for a while. I asked if i could just have coffee and toast and was told i could only pay for a cooked breakfast!! I paid and when i asked for a refund as i felt the food was not acceptable i was not offered anything other than...
