Went into the venue 2 days before booking my tickets to take my two grandchildren and my daughter and myself to see 4DX.
Wanted to check out exactly how to book the tickets to seating areas etc wanted everything to be perfect as I hardly ever see my family.
Went on line to the Cineworld website took several attempts to book the tickets in between each error from their website I had to wait 40 minutes for it to clear the seats I had chosen for it to refresh and update to become available again.
Eventually did it looked at the seating plan and booking four chairs together nobody to the right or the left of me large alleyway or aisle which meant I would not be sat next to anybody else because generally people can be disespectful noisy etc, so wanted to avoid this so chose four seats together which on their seating plant on their website online displayed clearly that.
Went to the venue at Kingswood nothing like the seating plan we got sat down in the seats I had paid for there was no large aisle or alleyway to the right of us or right of us, then a family of four came and sat right next to us they were so noisy crinkling rappers eating crisps the mother had brought about 100 pounds worth of food and snacks, and for 20 minutes into the film stood up dishing out drinks food goodies etc to her family members.
I know it is not the cinemas fault that people are disrespectful and noisy but their seating plan online clearly displayed a gap a large gap in between the next block of four seats these people were sat right next to us, no aisle or gap.
I will include the screenshot of the Cineworld website clearly displaying gaps to the left and right of my chosen seats. Misleading information on their website I would not have paid for these seats if I would have known it would be nothing like that in reality obviously monumental error on their website.
I WAS going to sign up for four unlimited passes may be six and pay that monthly but not after this experience if a company is advertising is seating plan for a cinema online and when you book it and get to the venue and it's nothing like they have sold you that is misleading and then we ended up as mentioned with the bad experience of disrespectful noisy other people.
Spoil my whole experience of watching Kung Fu Panda 4 on 4dx and this was the first time I went with my family and probably now the last.
The cinema industry is dying as it is at least get your information online right it's a basic seating plan and if you advertise it as having gaps to the right and left or alleyways or a large aisle on your website then please make sure it reflects the truthfulness of the actual cinema otherwise it's completely pointless even showing a seating plan.
Very annoyed I have sent an email complaint to the head office, I did absolutely everything I could to make sure our visit to the cinema and experience was brilliant unfortunately the people that let us down was the cinema themselves by completely showing the wrong seating plan and layout of the actual cinema at Kingswood.
It's very basic simple information, it is not hard to get it right just to make sure the seating plan online for that cinema, is the same overwise people...
Read moreOn entry a nice clean posh looking space. Sadly let down by the ticket counter and the refreshments/ snacks counter being the self same thing. Very annoying for those who just wish to get tickets and those who also only want snacks. 4 members of staff on, with one dealing with a customer and the other 3 all together with 1 more customer. I can understand sometimes someone could be training and may need assistance from a colleague. But 3 to 1 person was appalling.
So the film area. Very nice, uncomfortable especially for a 3 hour film. We chose the 4DX screening. It started 20 mins after the ticket time and that wasn't for adverts or trailers as we sat with a blank screen for the 20 mins.
The 4DX experience.
If you like movies and fair rides this is for you. Sometimes gentle movements then other times you couldn't get your lips round your drinking straw. Fans providing wind simulation and jets of air from the back of seat and the calf of your leg giving a blast of air as something on the screen shoots past. The seat also rumble in your back and what felt like a poke in the back. Mist and very minor splashes of water are felt. The 3D side of it was a bit of a let down. The film seemed dark and the 3D glasses made it a little darker. Some times the screen was clearer with the glasses on and other times with them off. If your wear corrective vision glasses, you may either wear contact lenses with the 3D glasses or wear the 3D glasses over your own so you have 2 pair on. No version of 3D glasses was offered for people who wear corrective vision glasses.
Now my review is complete of the cinema, I'll mention the film. Avatar 2 was the film. Great film only spoiled by the darkness and 3D. What could be improved? The experience could of been better if it was a normal 4k screening but withe the mist, wind, water and the seat its self. Seat comfort and a variable control for how much the seats move in relation to the movie. The seats could be individual to allow for this. Eat before you come unless you want to be bankrupt. Snacks are...
Read moreA really nice cinema with very helpful and friendly staff, the seats a generally comfortable and the place is clean parking is also a plus as is the choice of other venues in the area. The biggest issue I have with this cinema is the price of the food, I mean come of three pound (£3.00) for a bag of sweets I suspect all Cineworld Cinemas are the same but does it really have to be that way, I don’t think so. The choice of food is also very limited and a lot of customers would rather eat first then go to the cinema, they may also bring their own food and drinks in from time to time. I as do many others hate the smell of the food when it’s been cooked, or let’s face it microwaved to death it puts people off coming to watch a movie then you have to listen to others munching their way through a vast bucket of popcorn slurping coke which is by the way most likely 90% water. God I sound like a real misery-guts, I don’t mean to be it’s just very frustrating when your viewing pleasure is disrupted by this racket. I also feel the company are knowingly taking advantage of loyal customers who love to go and see a movie rather than watch them on TV, this in turn puts off potential new customers as word spreads from those who have been before. This in my opinion has to have a knock on effect to the Cineworld chain in terms of their revenue and customer satisfaction will no doubt be affected as well. Cineworld needs to be careful as there are so many on-line streaming services available these days and your loyal fan base may turn to them if you continue to rip us off. I would like to see a drastic change of tact and for the company to wake up and realise that without us your customers you are nothing, you need to start to treat people with respect and reward loyalty. The unlimited card may be one way but that in itself isn't cheap either, you need to reduce the pricing on all food and beverages they are ridiculously high anyway and only an idiot would pay those rip-off prices especially when you can walk across to Asda and get the same items...
