I am not sure where to start, but let me begin with the entrance of the hotel, It was dirty with cigarette buts flowing out of the plant pots, with half-dead looking plants which needed to be removed. The receptionist on the day we arrived was friendly and helpful. I gave a one for service because of the encounter we had with the Manager when we left, but I will get to that. On our way to the room, there was a smell of dampness, there was also cigarette butt and paraphernalia in the hallway, it was still there when we left three days later. On entering the room there was a strong smell of dampness, I refused to stay in the room, receptionist quickly changed our room, to the room next door to the damp room, which also had a smell of dampness, but not as bad. At this point, after a seven-hour journey, I was just too tired to trapse back to reception. The room looked tired it was not clean, and the bathroom was unclean, with mould in the corners, some of the towels had black spots on them, the towel rack was rusty and there were red spots on the shower curtain. The bed was so uncomfortable, we did not sleep well, and the air-conditioning was so loud we could not keep it on in this hot room. At no point did the receptionist check to see if everything was OK, Every time I went down to reception there was no one there. On checking out I bumped into the Manager, who asked "How was your stay?" I just shook my head and explained to her the problems, she was so blasé about the whole thing, that I walked out in disgust. I have stayed in Premier Inns up and down the country, this...

Late on Friday night I climbed into bed after a long day to discover the bed was wet! Not just a little bit of spilt water on the sheets but soaked right through the mattress. But how could this have happened after all, Premier Inn offer a 'good night guarantee'.
After speaking with the hotel nightshift receptionist she confirmed that two housekeeping staff would have checked and there was 'no way' that something like that would have gone unnoticed. The time is now 1:45am and she's checking the room and believes the fluid is in-fact URINE!!!
It is beyond comprehension how two members of staff where unable to notice this when changing over the rooms in the morning, preparing for new guest arrivals. The following morning we raised our concerns with Annabell on reception and it is safe to say she was mortified. Family members had spoken to Annabell upon check in and expressed how important this weekend was for us all. She was appalled and disgusted how something so unhygienic had gone completely unnoticed.
This complaint has been logged with the hotel and the premier inn guest relations services who were eventually 'apologetic' that the incident happen. After struggling with guest relations a refund has been issued but at present no further measures have been put in place to insure this never happens again or to restore my faith in the Premier Inn Brand. The relevant hygiene authority will also be contacted over this...
Read moreWhere do I start? Cant open the windows, you feel claustrophobic, stuffy, air flow is controlled downstairs, so everytime you want the AC on you have to call them, and when you want it switched off you have to tell them! (Not always do they do it the 1st time so you call them again after 10mins!) We were not told this eventhough there is a digital panel in the room, who wouldv thought its controlled downstairs only! we were not told we couldn't control the airflow so there's me trying to control it for the past day when it's 29 degrees outside, and we are melting away in the room. Staff didn't inform us or have the courtesy to say do you want your AC on its 29 degrees outside?! (They can see on the system who has AC on) There is no room service unless informed, so eventhough you inform them you want it all changed, theyd forget the bin, tea/coffee top up, won't even take the used towels from the bath. Shower head stuck to the wall looks ancient. Cant adjust and sprinkles out as if its about to die. Worst I've seen in an hotel, should always be the handheld shower hose kit. 2 stars for the helpful receptionists and the comfy bed. Few more hotels nearby you're better off staying in them. Premier Inn.. got alot of...
