We stayed at Premier Inn Trowbridge for a Friday-Monday birthday trip. We were visiting Longleat over the weekend, and this particular Premier Inn was the cheapest and best placed option for this attraction. You have lots of restaurants to choose from and also a supermarket right outside, so you have everything you may need without having to drive.
That being said, you won't want to go to any of the other restaurants as the staff and food in the in-house restaurant were great! We ate here 2 out of the 3 nights, and wish we had done so on the other night too. All the staff we encountered throughout our stay were warm, friendly, chatty and helpful. They all really stood out to us.
We stayed in a Premier Plus room on the top floor, which was well-equipped with water, premium tea, coffee machine, chocolate and a small fridge. The bathroom had a big bath and nice rainfall shower. It was nice having so many seating options in the room too! There were a couple of downsides to the room: one was that there appeared to be some unknown bodily fluids on the bed frame and wall by the bed, which were slightly concerning. The second was that the side of the bath was quite high compared to normal baths, so it was a bit difficult to get in and out of the shower as a shorter person. Lastly, there was quite a bit of noise coming from the roof on a couple of the nights of our stay, but when we looked on the satellite view on a map, it appears that there are some plant units right above the room we were in - so I suppose it cannot be helped.
Back to the staff, they were so friendly and keen to help in any way they could. It was so nice to see a smiling, happy face at breakfast in the morning, it made the atmosphere in the public areas of the hotel much nicer. They were chatting to customers about their plans and seemed genuinely interested and gave tips about other things to do in the area.
This stay was by far the best stay we have had in any Premier Inn. I think other Premier Inn hotels should strive to be like the Trowbridge hotel. We would definitely be choosing this hotel if we were staying in...
Read moreI have just spent one night in this. I arrived at one as I was attending a funeral. On checking in I was asked to pay an additional £10 because I was checking in before 3pm even though the room was ready. On going to the restaurant on site for dinner the meal was OK but I requested a coffee it was tepid warm. The bed was so uncomfortable I woke with chronic back pain and slept poorly. When using the shower it made the most awful loud noise plus the bath was so high I struggled to get in the bath to use it. I booked breakfast which was the continental. There was no selection of Danish pastries only croissants and pain au chocolate that were hard. I had crumpets but the toaster was so slow so they did not cook properly. I decided to have some Greek yoghurt with fruit, the fruit tasted disgusting and was not fresh but frozen left to stand. I finally finished with coffee again if was tepid and tasted disgusting and was not value for money and cost me £7.99. I certainly would not stay here again and they seriously need to address these issues. Although the staff were helpful the reception area always unoccupied and when you called reception nobody answered. Onde of the worst places I have stayed. ...
Read more⭐☆☆☆☆||Truly the worst experience I’ve ever had at a Premier Inn – never again.||I don’t usually leave reviews, but this visit to Premier Inn Trowbridge was beyond unacceptable. The staff were clearly untrained and had no idea what they were doing. We were served awful food, and to top it off, we were charged for a dish we didn’t even order.||Later in the evening, both staff and hotel management banged on our door demanding £2.99 – a completely inappropriate and unprofessional move. A waitress brought her child into work, who was then climbing over furniture and rearranging tables while guests were still eating.||We were asked, bizarrely, if we wanted ice in our beer, and when we inquired about the menu, the response was, “We’re not really sure how it works this evening.” Seriously?||The whole experience felt like a complete joke. I’ve stayed at many Premier Inns over the years and had decent experiences, but this was a total disaster from start to finish.||Avoid this place...
