When staying overnight in Trowbridge on a drive back from Wales, and having trouble finding a nice restaurant open (Saturday night!!) we accidently fell upon this amazing Indian restaurant (at first thought it was just a Take-away but the lady there said there was a Restaurant attached on side - thank goodness she told us as we would not have found it I think) - It was superb from the welcome we received, the decor, spotless tablecloths and general professionalism all round!! Very soon the Restaurant was almost full and it seemed most were local people!! The food was very good value, and well presented and very tasty just as one would hope to have. Ideal for a romantic couple meal or as a family or with friends! The staff clearly worked very hard and on speaking to one of the waiters he told us it was a family business. Excellent, well done and if we should travel back that way we will certainly pay another visit! Do not hesitate!! (By the way having been to an Indian Restaurant for the 1st time (and last!!) in Sidmouth a week back which was pretty appalling, all round, rudeness, no greeting, left food going cold on trolley, no awareness of Covid precautions that restaurant could certainly do with a week at this Trowbridge one to see how it all should be done and how to treat one's...
Read moreMe and my friends had a take away from them tonight and ordered some chips when we received the order and payed over 50 pounds for it we went to plate it up, only to discover the chips were stone cold. We rang the restaurant and asked for the full meal to be sent out as the chips were the main part as we didn't have rice and since we had already plated half the order we couldn't give the food back that they had sent out already. When the delivery women turned up I answered the door and she was very rude and disrespectful towards me and put the food back in the car and rang the restaurant saying I couldn't have the food as she wanted the previous order back, she then went on to tell me after her phone call to the restaurant that we were never to use there take away again even after they had told us on the phone that they didn't want the food back!! I'm absolutely appalled with the women delivery driver and her attitude. I hope no one else receives the shocking attitude from her as it will destroy the business quickly and she shouldn't be in a customer service roll if she can not communicate properly with customers!! The food was lovely when we had it although the chips were cold again after arguing with her so ruined the...
Read moreExcellent! Due to lockdown I've only had takeaway but what phenomenal takeaway it's been! Hailing from the Birmingham area I have had a thorough education in curries and have found the south of England to be particularly underwhelming and I've tried many (don't ever get a balti if you know what a balti should be, just don't), Tale of Spice isn't the only Indian I've tried around here but it's by far and away the best! The staff are polite and knowledgeable, the delivery staff are courteous and prompt and the food, my goodness, the food! All fresh using excellent cuts of meat, balanced spice, excellent recipes, generous portions and the best peshwari naans I've had in a very long time! I strongly recommend this establishment to everyone and I personally will continue to be a loyal customer for as long as possible, i might even try a...
