Sarah our hostess was amazing, good communication, upgraded us to the bigger accommodation with lounge.|Parked at main car park for the 48 hours reasonably priced |She met us nearby and escorted us to the house.||The interior was very eclectic and arty with fantastic lounge area and view of the kingsands and the waves crashing in which kept us amused as we watched the kids dashing back and forth from the shore.|She made our dinner reservations at the neighbouring pub, the devonport, which again was charming..great food and service. |She offered us a glass of wine before dinner and some snacks which was unexpected and went out of her way to look after us.|The bedroom was amazing and bed very comfortable. |The wet room was great and many extra touches and amenities provided. |The breakfast was amazing, fresh organic fruits, cereals ..then hot breakfast of our choice..the poached eggs and slow roasted tomatoes were more than restaurant standard. |I loved all her individual touches. |She has a real passion to look after her guests.|I’ve read some reviews, some but very few I feel are a little cruel.|Yes we couldn’t find milk for the tea and coffee provided so may be an advisory, but she gave us wine and nibbles which were unexpected.|The toiletries were provided if you had forgotten your own, which was sweet.|If you are thinking this is a five star hotel, you’d be wrong. Be prepared for quirky, unusual, funky. Some slight over sights if you want milk jiggers or individual toiletries but she more then makes up for these insignificances with her breakfast, her lovely dogs and her kindness and genuine interest.|Thank you so much, we...
Read moreWestcroft does not bother to reply to any emails nor return any calls to confirm your booking. In fact, the mobile number used on their website belongs to someone who hasn't worked for the guest house for 3 years and isn't even the current host!|I booked directly through Westcroft's webpage meaning that they took 50% of the cost of the stay straight away though made no attempt to confirm the booking in any way. With a 5-hour drive down to Cornwall for a wedding, we found the complete lack of communication really concerning, and then after reading some alarming reviews, we feared that the guest house was not in fact functioning so hastily booked alternative accommodation. Three hours into our 5-hour journey (and nearly 4 months after our first booking), we received the first contact from the host asking us to contact her when we were 30 minutes away from Westcroft. We were heading to the alternative accommodation and found it frustrating that this was the first communication the host had made. At the wedding, we learned that fellow guests were staying at Westcroft in the same Clock Tower Suite that we had booked and paid £115 deposit for. The host refused to refund our deposit. Don't even bother to book because the host does not bother to acknowledge your booking though happily retains your rather...

We loved the time we had in the room (3 nights) but the whole experience could have been so much better.|No mugs or milk were provided even though a kettle, sugar and spoon provided.|The bottle of water wasn't fresh Cornish water as the bottle says because the seal was broken.|On the second morning we came down for breakfast, the table wasn't laid, we had to knock on the kitchen door to wake Sarah the owner up as she was asleep on the sofa and didn't look as though she had been to bed! She came out looking very disheveled. |This is not the way to run a guesthouse! That day, we arrived back in the evening to a room which had not been serviced even though Sarah was drinking with her friends in the guest living room as we...
