Hey fellow adventurers! đ So, I ventured a bit off the beaten path and landed at "The Rising Sun" in Cawsand. Let me tell ya, it's one of those hidden gems that remind you why small pubs are the heart of the UK.
First up, the beer. Classic choices, each pour better than the last. You can tell they take their brews seriously here. But what really made the experience? The people. The owner is an absolute legend â made me feel like I was popping over to an old mate's place rather than stepping into a pub for the first time. It's that kind of warmth that sticks with you.
And speaking of friendly vibes, the place was buzzing with locals. You know you've struck gold when you walk into a room full of chatter, laughter, and those authentic local vibes. It's the kind of place where everyone might not know your name (yet!), but they'll treat you like they do.
No sweeping views here, but trust me, you won't miss them. The real charm of "The Rising Sun" is its heart and soul, and the feeling of community that wraps around you the moment you walk in.
If you find yourself in Cawsand and you're after genuine company, top-notch beer, and a taste of local life, make sure to swing by "The Rising Sun". Might bump into ya next time I'm there, sharing a pint and a story or...
Read moreHad a meal there last night on our first night of a week's stay and stayed for the live music after. Food was delicious and straight away we saw how great the staff were. Attentive, friendly and very good at their job. Then the evening got better and better! The pub was already busy, and it's a proper pub, great atmosphere, laughter ringing around, and bar staff fully engaged with the customers. We were made to feel very welcome straight away, even though we weren't regulars. The live music was great and as we settled in for a wonderful night a large birthday group turned up, all dressed in 1970's hippy gear! Fair to say we had a memorable night which we loved and can't wait to return ( a few times!) In our week here. NB If you run a pub, send your staff here to see how customer service should be done. Fantastic...

I had the fresh mackerel with carrot gratin and sauté pots. It was succulent fresh Ab Fab, my partner had the pulled pork bap with Jack Daniels bbq sauce, very tasty. Not to shy away from an attractive dessert menu bread pudding with raisin walnuts, did not disappoint, and the warm lemon drizzle cake with custard packed a ziggy finish to a splendid meal. Bubba was a great host and his staff were friendly accommodating and happy to adapt to our requests. Booked for a second visit it was so good. Great to not have chips with...
