This hotel appears to be some kind of a front for something else. Last June in summer season, I booked for two friends visiting me. This was due to it being close to where I live and good price. Within an hour I received a phone call from OYO hotels telling me the room was unavailable due to maintenance work so the booking was being moved to a 'near by' hotel. This so called Near by hotel was the Carlton which is around 25-30 minute walk from this one at other end of Yarmouth, so I cancelled and got a refund. ||Last month I booked for two people coming to town and used Air B and B this time. Again, it was because of location and price. Within hours I received an email from OYO hotels telling me the hotel was not available to maintenance work being carried out - the exact same excuse as June. They relocated to the Carlton telling me it was not far. I know different. I then ended up in a big debate with them asking why they are selling rooms for it through many websites like booking.com, and Air B and B when they know it is not available. They told me they would sort this. ||A month on, I checked and the room was still showing as available so I raised this and they just kept telling me it is not and the stay would have to be at the Carlton. I sensed something very off with the whole situation as not sure why a hotel that is not open would advertise dates for booking when its clearly not open just so they can relocate to another of the companies hotels. I messaged the Air B and B host they said said the booking was at this hotel not the Carlton so I asked why the emails from OYO were telling me different. They simply said sorry for the inconvenience. I asked to escalate this to a manager and they then stopped replying. Eventually I had to escalate this to Air B and B direct to get a refund and Air B and B confirmed the host did not respond to them. Read moreIt was our anniversary and we decided a reasonable stay in GY for a week. I made one of the biggest mistakes in my life by booking at Belvedere Guest house and this is why:|1. The carpet in the room was so faded and never been cleaned|2. The bed linen when slept on gave an itchy sensation all the time (I am guessing there were bed bugs)|3. Basic amenity of warm water for bathing.The water from the shower was either freezing cold or boiling hot. A guy came to fix it after 3 calls to CS and fixed it for 5 mins. After he left, it was set back to square one.|4. There was no one to look after the guests at the premises. If there is a problem you need to call CS and wait for 30 mins for someone to show up or a call back .|5. The walls were stained and door knob was taped,the closet had no knob,the wallpaper came out at certain places,the toilet space was so crunched and very uncomfortable,the water from tap was awful.|6. Room was booked for 4 days,but Day 2 I decided to vacate (infact one Day 1 but since it was evening already I stayed up to next day 10 am). I got a refund of 40% of the total amount (which I am so grateful for). Now the atrocious part, the customer service kept calling me (6 times) to inform me about the refund and asked about my exp, I told them I was not happy at all and will leave reviews on the web, one of them was very sarcastic "even after we give you a refund,you will leave a bad review". Went out the room and came back later that night and I cud not get in my room so I had to ring up to get a new code for it 😡 . I book the place for 4 nights . Bedroom cupboard was ready for the skip. In room too . Next morning I woke up with a bug on my bed 😱 hi Fort , nothing to it then later that day my Fred turned up to go to the Music gig with me later that night he came back early and he noticed a bedbug on his bed 😱 and texted me straight way he was not stopping there and he was setting off back home . when I got back to the room it was late So I fort get sum sleep 😴 for the next day of the music week end but I woke up straight away because there was something on me then I realised there was moor bugs in room and in my bed too 😱😡🤬 I killed 2 of them as you can see in picks and I dived in the shower fast and gathered my belongings together I was out of there I rang the company up and told them I was leaving early because of the problem it be nice to get my money back because this place was not up to standards and not fit to sleep in as well .
