Garrods bar and restaurant — Restaurant in Great Yarmouth

Was a little disappointed... for such a good sounding menu I found the execution fell a little short. The food wasn't bad but on the other hand it wasn't as good as it could have been. After all the restaurant did have I think a 5 rating on Google.

To give an example on the food side we had a lamb chop dish that included a lot of fat on the chops. The fat was rendered to any crispness and just didn't look appealing. A little attention to trimming the fat and providing a knife suitable to cutting it would have helped. The desert was the lemon posset and it wasn't set at the bottom.

Also, and this seems a small detail, but if you want to give the illusion of fiber dining table cloths (not 70s style bare table, and decent cutlery also help.

Staff we pleasant and speed of delivery were excellent.

Had a meal here this week, whilst staying in Great Yarmouth for a family wedding. The food was hot and very tasty. Between the 4 of us we tried the ceasar salad, chicken wings and scallop starters. The steak and Guinness pie was delicious. The others sampled chicken and pork mains. Only a little left on everyone's plates (always a good sign).
