I knew from the website that the outside was not what you could call beautiful, but the rooms looked spacious and had all we needed for an overnight stay for myself and my 21yr old son.
On arrival and booking in, the young man was very polite and welcoming, the bar/restaurant was busy in the middle of a quiz night and felt to have a good atmosphere.
I'd asked for ground level due to mobility, and good to my request, that's what we got... we was in the family room in room 2, absolutely perfect as only 32 steps from car to front door..... phew.
The room was spacious, spotlessly clean and had everything you need for an overnight stay eg decent sized TV, hair dryer, tea/coffee making facilities, shower plus a jacuzzi bath (which we didn't try but looked good), wardrobe and hangers, an iron and towels.
The decor was basic but fine, furniture a little dated/budget range but well made and solid, mattress wasn't the best but ok... We didn't opt for the breakfast so can't comment about that.... Only 1 small pillow each, so asked for a couple of more and they were delivered in 20 minutes to our door which was great.
After spending the next day exploring and driving around Anglesey, we decided we wanted to stay another night to go off to explore through Snowdonia the following day, called back to rebook and was given room 5, a twin room, everything the same as room 2 but the mattresses had seen better days but wasn't that uncomfortable that we didn't sleep or caused a problem. One other thing that shouldn't have been overlooked was one of the towels was thread bare and had a hole in, I'm sure if this comment is read, they'll sort that out as everything else is spot on.
As a base for staying over and exploring, I can only give it the full 5 stars for the price we paid, the nearby beach and views are stunning, everything you need is only a short drive away in the car including take aways and Asda.... A big plus was it being dog friendly too although you need to take your own dog bed, bowls etc as none provided, which was also fine... You pay extra to take the dog, but only a one off payment for how many nights you stay, although nothing provided, I accept you might pay more for any extra cleaning.
To sum it up.... very reasonably priced and very clean accommodation, was very happy with the price for what we got, any staff we spoke to were genuinely nice people and ready to help accommodate you.... It was a pleasant stay with local amenities if you drive with a lovely beach and views close by... Would definitely recommend if you aren't expecting The Ritz.... but for the price you pay, you wouldn't expect that 😁
P.S., I am really quite fussy so if I would go back, and did do, then if you take all the above on board, you won't be disappointed! Thumbs up from me, my son and...
Read moreI always try to write a fair review so I will start with the good points. The location is great!! We love Trearddur Bay hence why we chose this location for our anniversary break and this was the only place that had availability on the dates we wanted. The jacuzzi bath was a nice relaxing touch if a little noisy but that can’t be helped and the staff all seemed lovely however that unfortunately is where the good points end. The room is very basic, we knew that, we didn’t pay 5 star money however the bed was so uncomfortable and even though the place looked clean there was a throw on the bed which absolutely stank I can’t describe how bad it smelled!!! To be fair we didn’t give the staff the opportunity to rectify that, we just moved it on top of the wardrobe but the smell lingered. In hindsight we should have made them aware of it. The door and the window both look out onto the walk way so the only way to have any privacy is to either shut the curtains fully or pull down the roller blinds, which felt a bit oppressive. I do think some vertical blinds would allow some light while giving a bit of privacy too. The layout is strange there is a lovely golf course behind but the back of the hotel has no windows over looking that just at the front overlooking a building! Though you can see the sea from the top floor over the rooftops! Not the best design! We had a meal in the restaurant which was nothing special and the breakfast was mediocre. We had booked two nights both with breakfast however because the bed was so uncomfortable and I couldn’t stand the smell in the room we decided to go home on the second day. It is not somewhere I will be returning to and it was disappointing given it was our anniversary but it wasn’t expensive so we will chalk it up...
Read moreReally spacious room, good location and cheap. However it was very noisy at night with drinkers from the bar standing outside which is right in front of the bedrooms. Even though the outside seating area has a sign saying it closed at 10pm there were still people shouting and chatting outside after that time. ||The room was very hot but I did not feel safe having the window open. The window was huge - large enough for someone to easily climb in or reach through to the door lock, and was low enough for someone to climb in. It opened directly on to the external walkway so it was easily accessible for anyone to get to. As a solo female traveller I did not feel safe having the window open at night. I have no idea how the room was so incredibly stiflingly hot as it was not a hot day and the radiator was off the whole time. ||The mattress was clearly old as it sagged a lot in the middle and the pillows were old...
