This was our final evening of the caravan season which we chose to spend at our local Robinson Brewery establishment “The Seacroft” which we have supported since the beginning of March, many pounds spent here and 28th October was no different, we had a table for 4 booked at 5:00 p.m. we all had meals, dessert, drinks and cocktails, we then retired to the bar to continue having our final little party, more drinks lots of giggles, the pub had plenty of people sat around drinking. Imagine our surprise when a member of staff approached us at around 9:40 p.m. and told us last orders was about to be called and would we like to order any more drinks? We were absolutely shocked, I then asked how long we had left until we would have to leave the pub and we were told 20mins.
Shocked is a bit of an understatement, we asked to speak to Gemma the manager for the evening who explained she wanted to get home…..
Gemma became angry when we put it to her that this was our last evening, we had chosen to spend it at The Seacroft shutting the pub as early as this was very disappointing, through the course of the conversation we learnt that Gemma actually knew she was going to close early, we then said why wasn’t there a notice up so that customers were aware and could then make other arrangements for our evening. Gemma became even more angry, rude and walking off shouted into the air well sit there and drink then, we were astounded at her lack of professional behaviour.
We made to move and went to pay the £250.00 bill and said to a chap (not got this name yet) behind the bar well that wasn’t great was it, his response was jaw dropping, verbatim “I agree with Gemma, there are plenty of other places where we could go and drink” What does one say to that, his behaviour was disgraceful by any standard, definitely not the right skill set for hospitality!!!!
We left but remained on the Seacroft balcony /terrace whilst we put on overshoes, we could see through the window this disgusting character continue to laugh and mock us, I knocked on the window quite loudly so he knew I could see what he was doing and for him to stop. Two further male individuals (again I don’t have names just yet) then appeared in the pub doorway and again verbatim “told us to get off the premises, we had too much too drink and if we didn’t move the Police would be called”
Whilst we had definitely had a few drinks, we most certainly were in control of our behaviour, I have no words for what happened.
We have been enjoying “The Seacroft since March most weekends, we have made many friends staff and customers. It’s not an isolated incident that we have been told the pub is closing early, this has happened before, which was odd as the place was booming. It’s so disappointing when you have spent all week looking forward to relaxing here after a 3 hour drive from home.
I hope these individuals seek further training or move to other jobs more fitting to their rude and inhospitable attitudes.
THIS IS MOST DEFINITELY NOT THE WAY TO TREAT CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE SUPPORTED THIS PLACE FOR MOST OF THIS YEAR.
To the Seacroft please look into this incident, these individuals are doing your business a great deal of harm!!!!
This will NOT be...

We were really worried about coming here, after reading all the negative reviews.. If you think of this place as an expensive Wetherspoons, you wont be too disappointed. We booked a Deluxe room with a balcony, and it was boiling as soon as you went upstairs. We were fortunate as we brought our big fan (after reading the reviews) the tiny fan in the cupboard wouldn't have done anything to aid with how hot it was up there. In the shower room there was an almost empty toilet roll to last us for 3 nights, no hand wash just an empty dusty bottle alongside dirty hand cream and shower gel, mould in the shower and the "clean" towels had black make-up on them from the previous occupiers. The "cleaner" lady always looked very grumpy, so we didn't ask her for the thing's that we needed. luckily there was a store cupboard at the hall, so we found some clean towels and a couple of loo rolls. the draws and cupboards looked like they could do with a proper clean, under the bed was thick with dust! With the place being dog friendly, you'd hope that they'd keep on top of the hoovering. This is all thing's that numerous other customers have mentioned in the past comments and reviews... So nothing new... yet nothing has been done to rectify all of the cleaning issue's. Even the coffee cups were dirty with coffee stains and grime, so were the glasses. Just left for us to clean on arrival. Also squished bug's on the wall. On the first night we hadn't booked anywhere to eat, and the hotel kindly booked us in with them. We weren't looking forward to the food, due to the reviews.... We were seated and then we waited awhile with the menus to order... Only to be told that 6 item's on the already limited menu they were out of. So we ate elsewhere. what we saw coming out, didn't look good...We were definitely glad that we didn't order the evening food... Highly recommend The Sea Shanty that's a short walk down the road, also The Stores next-door is good also. I recommend booking to avoid disappointment. Also there is an Adsa 8 minuets away by car. The room's did let in a fair bit of noise, so bring your ear plugs. We were very tired when we got back, after being out all day. On the plus side the location is great! only a few minutes away from a beautiful beach. The breakfasts were amazing! We couldn't fault them. The Scottish male server and the Welsh male server on a morning were very polite and professional... they couldn't have been more friendly and attentive. I would give them both 5 stars. There is good parking also. The little beach is beautiful and it's only a couple minutes walk away. It's such ashame as with only a few improvements our score would have been very different. listen to your customer's... we visited in July 2025 As this place stands at the moment I wouldn't recommend or...
Read moreBeen here twice & both times awful experience. 1st time went with my sisters. Took over 15 minutes for anyone to come even ask for our drinks. Took another 15 minutes for them to bring drinks to table. Restaurant only had 3 other tables, not busy at all. So no excuse. They got my order completely wrong. And my sister found hair in her food. She sent it back, but they brought it back a 2nd time STILL with hair in her food and said they couldn’t do anything about it as they already sent it back once. We then ordered pudding. They brought all 3 of us child size desserts...we are all 3 adults over age 20+. They said they didn’t have time to redo the order but instead would just give us the child portion dessert and charge us child price. By the end we just wanted our bill, server never came back so after waiting 20 minutes we just went up to til and paid. Now you would think after all this we would never come back, but that was over 1yr ago. So fast forward to a few weeks ago, my husband & I were in the area and heard they refurbished last month so we said lets just give it a go as all the other restaurants in Trearddur Bay were booked with no availability. (Not surprising as the Seacroft’s competitors are much better, food, service & price for what you’re getting). So with no where else to go we decided it’s over 1 year later maybe that bad experience was a 1 off, but NOPE we were greeted by an extremely rude blonde lady who said she was the manager. She must have been in a mood because as we stood at host stand waiting to be seated we saw her angrily texting on her phone, snap at her employees and then walk over to us in a huff as if we were a “burden” coming into the restaurant. Sorry she had to do her job! She greeted us in a huff and when we asked to be seated by a window she rolled her eyes and irately replied “We have seating based on where we can put you where our server is.” Now this wasn’t a problem, I’ve worked in restaurants and know that this happens, but the way she spoke to us was absurd. It was so evident she was in a mood that my husband even asked her if she was ok which she then replied “You know I would rather you didn’t ask me if I’m ok. Are you staying or leaving?” Which at this point we politely just said “No thank you we will be leaving.” We told all our friends/family about the experience and they said they weren’t surprised as they had also experienced that behaviour from this 1 specific blonde lady manager. We strongly advise not wasting your time/money here. We frequent all the Trearddur Bay restaurants weekly and highly recommend Sea Shanty, Black Seal, and Trearddur Bay Hotel. The Holyhead Golf Club is also very lovely! But best option is to steer...
