I felt immediately welcomed at the bridge Guest House in Ipswich. Alone in a three bed bedroom I was quite comfortable. Even though the bed was squeaky it was comfortable and cosy. The Guest House is only 5 Minutes from Ipswich train station and it will take you 15 min max on foot (there´s a bus too) to the city center. Behind the house there is a big park to chill out or do your daily run. Each morning you get to choose from a vast array of breakfast which will be cooked for you specifically. + amazing breakfast + really friendly host (Haroon) and staff (funny lady in the kitchen) + clean house and room + kettle, glasses, mugs, coffee, tea, sugar in room + TV + coat hangers and shelf + table and chairs in room - leaky toilet - room facing Ancaster Road was very noisy due to a lot of traffic and the closeness to the rails. - stairwell was overheated and really hot! - front room with tourist info was not accessible

Clean, safe, peaceful place to sleep. Stunning view of the park from the en-suite room at the back of the 1st floor a small surcharge was added. Train noise was minimal for how close the station was. Cheap and cheerful double room with no unpleasantness. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Only gripe was one of the beds that partially collapsed at the head and foot end under the mattress, and the pillows were very thin. Overall, a pleasant stay.

I booked to stay one night on a business trip. Not my usual place but everything was booked so short notice meant I had little choice. I don’t know Ipswich so I wasn’t aware of the area. The place looked OK on the site so I booked. ||The first issue was the approach road where the Satnav took me was bizzar. I came down a residential street that had all but washed away. It was like driving down the Karakoram Highway and my car was damaged. That road should be closed.||||The hotel looked OK. I was met by a polite Pakistani Lady who showed me to my room and sent me a text to welcome me and if I needed anything to ask. ||||I did ask for a curry but only fish and chips is on the menu. ||||Outside and across the street is another hotel full of drug takers, prostitutes and drug dealers, one guy permanently on watch with a mobile phone. The place looks very dangerous.||||I sat in my room and did some research, there has been stabbings, mugging sand shootings. And a murder.||||I have been a soldier all||My life and worked in some hostile places but this was one place I felt unsafe and not in control if potential events.||||I left and went to find another hotel. I would have preferred to cancel my meeting and drive back to Cardiff if nothing else was available rather than stay there. I doubt my car would have been safe either.||||I||Sent the manager a text. There was no suggestion of a refund.||||This...

This place looks, sounds and smells like a Bail Hostel. I got the impression that some of the guests live there.

I would especially recommend female visitors to avoid this place: my bedroom was on the first floor. The room was very stuffy and smelly even with the radiator off, so I had to leave the window open and kept waking up during the night, anxious that someone would be climbing in. Also because the room was right next to the main road so very noisy.

I could hear people swearing and coughing all night, and the mattress was really old, uncomfortable and threadbare.

There was no hairdryer in the room. I got the impression I was the first female guest they'd had for a while.

The cooked breakfast was bad - although I went down as soon as they started serving, it was clear from the texture of the poached eggs that they had been cooked some hours earlier - they had developed a sort of plastic shell.

However, the parking is free, the room is cheap and the proprietor was polite...
