On my way to Lowestoft I initially had a nice surprise seeing a Greggs inside Ipswich station as I was on my way to the Costa, but firstly whilst having a look at what delicious pastries they had for me to eat the young lady behind the counter shouted at me whilst she was serving a customer to step back behind the barrier, and glared at me even though I wasn't anywhere near the side that she was saying??
I queued up but she was in so much of a rush that she was constantly rolling her eyes and tutting at everybody she was serving, then when it was my turn I asked for a sausage roll and a cappuccino but she had me scan my app constantly, and when I told her that I wanted to pay via the app she rolled her eyes at me, snatched my phone and continuously scanned it, I couldn't wait to get out of there.
However after boarding the train I found that my drink was an Americano and not the cappuccino I asked for, it wasn't very warm either and my sausage roll was the vegetarian variety, then after checking my app I saw that I was charged twice within one minute of each other that had both been taken from my wallet, a very disappointing experience as this store is also more expensive than a...
Read moreWith me booked on the 0958 train from Ipswich to Felixstowe on a cold and grey January morning , I pre-ordered a cup of coffee and a roll with sausage and bacon to have on the journey. So I parked my bike, settled into my seat within moments, took a swig of the coffee, which was hot and tasty, then, expectantly, bit into the roll. It was, at best, lukewarm, with a parsimonious bit of spread in the middle of one side. The roll was nice, very similar to what I grew up with in Scotland, but, while the bacon was especially tasty, who likes it cold? There was really no excuse; there were a lot of customers, so everything should have been freshly prepared. Plus I was a couple of minutes early for my pickup. Methinks they had packed it as soon as I had placed the...
Read moreVery poor customer service and very poor selection. Normally travelling through I find this store to be convenient and well stocked, making it a regular visit.
However as of late it appears to close much earlier, at 1830 in the past few instances, with the two young gentlemen offering a limited selection of stone cold pasties.
It states and has previously been open until 2000 however this doesn’t seem to be the case.
Also I would question whether it’s permitted for the staff to eat the food behind the counter as they clear the cabinet. At least wait until they’re finished working and out of...
