We had lunch here today to celebrate our daughters 21st birthday. The restaurant was very busy as there was a football match about to start and lots of supporters were eating before they went. This didn't stop our waitress, Tia, from giving us her undivided attention whenever we needed her. We had a family member with us who has dementia and Tia could not have been any more patient with him. She helped with his drinks to ensure that he had a big cup with smaller amounts so he didn't spill it. She gave us extra napkins so we could use them as a bib, and stop him spoiling his clothes. These may seem like little things, but to me, they are massive, the restaurant was heaving, but she still went over and above for us. The restaurant itself was very clean and tidy with lots of space between the tables to allow for privacy to chat while you're eating. We were given complimentary drinks when we arrived and plenty of time to look at the menu. The food was gorgeous, I can't think of anything I would change. We brought a cake with us and this was stored for us until we were ready for it. Tia took it out of the box, lit a candle and brought it to the table whilst singing happy birthday. Always liked Ask, and had a good meal in there again last night (ipswich cardinal park one), one waitress in particular Lauren was exceptionally happy and helpful and a lovely lady, the manager (I think that’s who he was) could maybe be a little happier, a smile and a quick natter doesn’t take a lot and goes a long way. The vegan dough bites are fab! (Had then before), they are a starter but I wanted them and a salad on the side as a main, but my only vegan option for that was a basic small side salad, how about something plant based/meat substitute added to it and also a proper side salad rather then as I had to do was to pay for two small side salads to make one full size one. My other issue that all be it the vegan options that are on the menu are excellent, theres not enough choice, also why do I have ask for a separate menu as a vegan that is presented in a black folder which also contains allergy options, kind of makes vegans and anyone with allergies feel like there are slightly alien to have a ‘special’ black plastic folder/book given to them, it’s choice for the above or not if it’s allergies but neither should feel alienated or odd. All constructive advice, and I will continue using Ask but the above would make the experience...

What’s not to like? Great food, ambience, and evening. We booked a table for 16, a family thing for grandson’s 18th birthday. We used to eat here a lot in the past and it was always enjoyable, but I think it has improved! The staff were very friendly and helpful, we were served by Samantha, who was amazing when dealing with all our orders. As a family gathering we wanted to enjoy ourselves, enjoy each other’s company, enjoy the food, and enjoy the experience. All of these were easily achieved. Everyone enjoyed their food, and considering the range in ages and tastes, that’s amazing. The restaurant is modern and the seating comfortable. The decor is lovely and has a relaxing feel to it, and importantly the lighting was just right. All in all we had a fabulous time. It did take a while for the food to arrive but in my opinion if you’re booking that many people into a restaurant where food is cooked to order, that’s not unreasonable. We paid for ourselves, and there was no problem splitting the bill, which was done without efficiently and without any fuss.
