*Edit after getting to stay, April 2025. I previously gave a poor review based on a bad customer experience, trying to visit but not being able to. I have left that below so you can see what happened, and you can see the whole experience. This review, however, is based on staying there and how nice it actually is if you get that opportunity. The staff when you arrive are friendly and helpful. The rooms are lovely. Modern, well furnished, everything you could ask. I did pay a little more for a club room. This was to try to mitigate some of the issues of my previous tike booking. In the hotel there is a lovely pool with sauna and steam room. Again, these facilities are lovely. You can use them as your leisure for a few extra quid. It's well worth it if you have time during your stay to just relax, as I made sure I did. The breakfast in the morning is buffet style and has everything you could ask for. A full fry up, continental. The lot. A little tip , pay at the "hotel reception" rather than the bar, which is just round the corner, and it's apparently £5 cheaper. Tbh, I did this, but with the self-service style it was, I had to ask for a cup, cutlery, and everything else. I was nut once asked for proof I'd paid. So, you make up your own mind, how best to navigate paying for the buffet that's out on offer in the morning. Overall, I enjoyed my stay a lot. *An example of the ridiculous customer service you can expect, see reply to this poor review, by the general manager of hotel, below. Review - * edited to be factually what happened and ranting removed. I was a bit reticent to write a bad review of this hotel for various reasons, but having looked at reviews that have had similar issues, I will put up my views of my service experience. This is to hopefully stop others falling foul of this hotels poor service and seemingly bad business practices. I did not get to stay at the hotel. I did book two nights and fully intend to stay here. I, however, had a bad accident that meant I was physically unable to attend my booking. This happened the day of my planned check-in, and I was only able to inform them shortly after my check-in time. I had a bad accident and was occupied with trying to get myself home whilst suffering a bad injury. I did not immediately think about the logistics of my reservation. When I came to realising I should try to sort my reservation and I was physically able to , I did not receive a good response. I was charged for the full 2 nights. I did book through " booking dot com" and so appreciate there are some terms and conditions when you book. I also appreciate it was late on that day. I would have been OK with being charged for that night. But why the second night when they could easily book that room again ? They also could have refunded a partial refund or dare I say, both nights as a gesture if they were a reasonable business. Instead, I just got a copy and paste response stating terms and conditions. I always hate when a business does this as it just feels so impersonal.

Me & the Girlfriend stayed here for a get away for my birthday the other week, they had a deal on, Club room, £40 dinner & drink spend in the restraunt for £109, for that price compared to a standard double room which was £80, it would of been silly to take up on the deal. On arriving the room was sealed with a "Sticker" to show that the room has been cleaned which inside it shown, perfectly tidy & clean. The bed & pillows were super comfy and the view was nice pretty nice (top floor), 42" TV on the wall which you wouldn't normally use but we ended up using when we arrived and getting ready. We went down to the bar for our evening and a few drinks, the food choice is quite limited but quality was great, we both ordered the same which didn't disapoint. The prices for food and drink, i expected to be reasonably high but i was wrong, they wern't so bad, myself on Rum / whiskey & coke (£4.50 single) Girlfriend on Gin & lemonade (£4), The food i think was around £11.50 each. The morning after, we went downstairs for the breakfast which was included. Since covid is a thing, they couldn't do their help yourself breakfast bar, so it was a set menu (Full English or continental) that came with Juice & 1 cup of tea or coffee when seated. We both got a Full English.... It was dispointing to say the least (as seen in the photo) it came with, fatty bacon, 2 sasuages, beans and plain scrambled eggs, Tomato, yogurt and a slice of toast.. all of which was cold and tastless. Scrambled eggs were awful and i actually struggled to eat them with the tomato being pretty much raw, beans it was like they forgot to put them in the microwave, Toast was Solid, only okay thing were the sausages, they were loot warm but tasted okay, Didn't even eat the yogurt as.. yogurt on a full english? Minus the breakfast, everything was superb, from the service the staff gave, the room, the prices & cleanliness and I would recomend going here and if you get breakfast, go outside of covid where they do their help yourself breakfast bar. **Improvments to be made** - Breakfast - More staff in the restraunt / bar, we felt the staff were quite flustered and had too much todo so their attention from the customers got diverted

Update: 08/2023.

I have stayed here 2 times since this previous incident due to a good will guesture on the part of the hotel managers.

It has since been a pleasant stay and I was able to get my room as per the booking on each subsequent stay. The staff remembered me from my initial stay and really made it a point to provide a good experience. This was appreciated. Thank you to Clare H. for arranging this and trying to rectify the issues.

I would state though that I heard the hotel routinely overbooks and if you're the last People to check in you may end up somewhere else you hadn't planned for if the hotel is busy.

Previous Review: 04/2023

Well where do I start... My brother is getting married in Manchester in Saturday so booked 2 rooms for 2 nights (28th-30th April 23) I called right after booking AND PAYING IN FULL to confirm the booking was confirmed and to double check that I would be arriving late in the night as I would be leaving London after work and that was OK. One of the guests is a well known public figure who has spent the day filming for Eastenders and then travelled 4 hours right after to get some rest before tomorrow only to be let down.

I reiterated repeatedly that it was My brothers wedding on Saturday and I could not afford any issues with the booking. I was assured on multiple occasions that the rooms were booked, payed for and confirmed and that check in was 24hrs so not to worry.

Well we arrived tonight (28th) to discover after all the assurance and having paid upfront that there was no room at the hotel and that we could be accommodated at Hyde.

So Village Hotel took my money and left me and my guests without our paid for rooms

I explained I had booked Ashton for logistal reasons and that the rooms were paid for and it was unacceptable.

We were repeatedly assured that Hyde could accommodate us and that we would be compensated for the inconvenience. We again asked them to confirm it was for the full booking for 2 nights. This was confirmed by the staff at Ashton

It is now 1am and we arrive at Village Hyde only to find out that not only do they only have double beds and no singles BUT they are fully booked for Saturday night and would not be able to accommodate us past tonight and we would need to vacate by 11am as they are fully booked.

We have been lied to and let down yet again and I'm absolutely digusted by this hotel.

The staff at Ashton was admanant it had been resolved and that Hyde could take us for 2 nights and it was a total lie.

I have never been messed around lied to and treated so poorly by a company despite repeatedly confirming my booking.

I have to be at my brothers wedding by 5pm but will be without anywhere to get ready after 11am. Am I expected to get ready in my suit at 11am and walk around Manchester aimlessly until 5pm?!

Currently we are in Limbo as to what will happen tomorrow morning but chances are we are going to be put out on the streets with no where to get dressed before hand or to stay afterwards.

Credit to the staff at Hyde Harry and Jack who have tried their absolute best to make up for Ashtons mess, one not of their doing and I appreciate what they have done in their limited capacity. However even they have been left red faced as despite assurance from Ashton staff they cannot accommodate us after tonight due to being fully booked for Sundays...
