I arrived here Monday afternoon after a very long drive 561 miles (I wasn't driving) but its always tiring, to be greeted by this lovely lady on the desk who promptly found my name gave me my key told me where my room was and asked did I want to book a table for my evening meal (across the road), fabulous I did!. Upon arriving in my room, everything was so fresh and smelled pleasant (I have a thing about smells and a very sensitive nose!) There was a huge TV on the wall with tons of channels to choose from.. yet I chose Jeremy Kyle.. as you do! There was a nice neon light above the bed which I kind of liked :) I loved the light in the mirror that was just brilliant for makeup, hairdryer. I decided to have a bath, because im 5"9 I usually cannot fit into any hotel baths.. but I did! And even laid down!!... So night time meal, was like a beef eater I was hungry, I had fish and chips, it was good quality fish and chips! Then a pud. Night.. I dont know what they do to those beds but I slept for 9 hours straight, I mean I dont even remember ever sleeping that long.. ever, perhaps theres some sort of magic potion in the duvet! Morning... refreshing shower! Then straight to breakfast, and you can choose and eat as much as you want, I had pancakes, a pan au chocolate, and yogurt, cafe latte and orange juice.. but theres so much more to choose from :) I hung around the room for a while after breakfast as clocking out wasn't till 12pm, the staff were all really helpful and friendly in the hotel and at the brewyers, I would 100 % recommend and I will...
Read moreStandard Premier Inn with a Brewers Fayre next door.
Free parking (just remember to register) and air conditioning in the rooms.
Our room was a little tired - bulb out and paintwork a bit scruffy, but it was clean and quiet.
Breakfast is served in the Brewers Fayre as is the evening meal if you go for that option. I wasnt too keen on the food, but it was a fair price and portions were a good size. Was clean and staff were generally helpful. Had to send a kids burger back as was pretty raw inside - they swapped it without any fuss, but it meant a long wait which spoiled our meal. Usual items on offer at breakfast- it was ok apart from the awful burning smell being given off by the chiller - yuk!
There's a McDonald's, Starbucks, Dominoes and Aldi right over the road. ASDA (with self serve petrol station) and a small shopping centre also nearby.
Will definitely return, despite the couple of negatives on the food front.
One thing worth noting is that I overheard another guest complaining that the pub closed very early. The receptionist explained that it was only open during Dinner service times and didn't operate as a 'normal' pub. So worth being mindful of this if you are hoping for a late drink - maybe check...
Read moreAfter spending a week travelling around England due to covid 19 regs, staying at many premier Inn hotels this hotel was the final stop over.( room 123 on 2nd oct 2020)
Bathroom was not clean , hairs in bath and on toilet seat we went and brought cleaning products from supermarket across the road.
The worse night sleep, people above us were banging around their room until 3am, kept dropping things on the floor, stamping across the floor which was right above us trying to sleep.
At 5am children shouting and running down the hallway.
We Went down to reception at midnight to speak to them, to asked to be moved but no staff around as was outside smoking, yet states 24hr staffing? Went down reception again and still no staff at front desk?
Totally disappointed with this hotel which is a great shame as the other 5 we stayed in were excellent.
Would not stay at this hotel again , we would have had better nights sleep roughing it in the car.
We Did not ask for refund part of their promise guarantee good nights sleep,
We perfer to leave this feedback and hope head office read this post and do something about it about and their lack staff duties and customer...
