Let me begin with complimenting the young lady working front desk/maintenance/maid service. We arrived to be greeted by two automated check-in kiosks, of which both were out of service. The cost to maintain these would be better spent on desk staff in the hospitality industry. The desk lady arrived after five minutes and was warm and friendly. Once checked in, she had to sprint off to attend to another guest. Our first minor issue was that both key cards failed to open the door. While the desk lady was helping someone on my floor, she asked me to wait by the front desk for her. While waiting. Someone, I assumed to be the handyman, arrived and attempted to help. However, they did not have access to the system for key cards. This was a lost opportunity because more guests had arrived and began to que. Eventually, we received a new room, knowing we'd have to wait for our extra bed to be made. So again, we continued to wait while the amazing employee cared for the que and eventually made our room, delivered more than the single towel included in the room, and ensured we were cared for. Overall the hotel is quiet, clean, and tidy. The floors creak to the point I can not walk to the restroom without waking the family, and the pillows are flat. I didn't sleep well. My impression is that a company attempted to implement the worst aspects of an Airbnb into an understaffed facility and still attempt to pull every pence from a customer like separate charges for parking.

Premier? Me thinks not. As always the staff were polite and engaging when we were greeted at reception. Unfortunately, we were also met with a pervading, invading and eyebrow-wilting odour of what I can only describe as cheddary feet. Upon entering the well proportioned and well laid-out room (also greeted by a dank Cheeto whiff) we noticed the floor hadn't been vacuumed. The carpet was also stained in a couple of suspicious places (no dark light needed here 🤢). The duvet cover had what looked like a cigarette burn and a large cut in two separate areas. The bed was comfy enough but only one extra pillow? What's that about? Are we supposed to share? The Aircon refused to stay on so the room was extremely stuffy throughout the night. I didn't check to see if the windows opened, my mistake. The view was a treat; a derelict house and some weeds. But you don't go to a premier Inn for a view. You go for a comfy sleep. It did not deliver. Shame. Ding ding, ding ding (GoT ref).

A hotel with a cleaning and ventilation problem which I suspect is bad news for any allergy/asthma sufferers. Three rooms later and not a good experience or what I've come to expect from Premier Inn. Couldn't stand the stale smell in the first room (317). It smelled a lot like it had been cleaned with dirty cleaning cloths and / or vacuum cleaner. The second room (316) smelled marginally better but the bathroom ceiling was covered in mould and the extraction system didn't appear to be working. The room was also missing a table lamp. On asking to change to a third room we were met by an underwhelming response rather than the expected profuse apology. Now in the third room (222) the stale smell persists but is almost bearable and we're too tired to move again after 8 hrs of driving. Had planned a relaxing morning but now planning to leave as early as we can to escape the smell. Very glad we only booked one night. I know you can do much better than this Premier Inn.

I stayed here from 23rd to 27th Sep 2025. Whilst there are some positives, the staff are friendly, it is very clean, and the parking was good, the guaranteed good night sleep is a lie. What they don't tell you is that the windows are completely sealed, so they have a ventilation system which makes a noise 24 hours a day and can't be turned off. I started in room 120 which was utterly freezing and despite the control panel in the room allowing you to amend the temperature, it turns out that does diddly squat. I spoke to reception who kindly amended the temperature from a master control panel they have. It took some time to warm up, but there was still a constant noise from the separate ventilation system (directly above you as soon as you walk in the room). I went back to reception to complain again and they agreed no fuss to move me to room 123. This was normal temperature- which is a good job as the control panel in the room there doesn't work either, however there was still the constant noise and weird dripping/clicking sounds. I got no sleep at all. On the last night people moved into the room above and every time they used any water or flushed the toilet it sounded like Niagara falls was coming through the ceiling. Made the mistake of paying for the food package. The breakfast was mediocre, the evening meal had a "new menu" so new that for 4 nights the one dish that had any sign of a vegetable, was not available. The puddings were good when they weren't sold out. Choice was limited and take a coat and scarf as the restaurant is very cold. This is a purpose built hotel, they are aware the windows are sealed but make no reference to this or the unbearable noise, and continue to advertise the rooms as soundproofed and guaranteeing a good nights sleep. I have made a complaint, been given a reference number and apparently someone would be in contact within 5 working days. Surprise surprise, i haven't heard a thing. I am utterly appalled at the miss leading advertising of how you are guaranteed a good night sleep, when they know full well of the building flaws. Not to mention the concerns over fire safety with completely sealed windows. This has put me off ever staying at a...

The staff were friendly, polite, and kind. They all deserve a raise. We were able to check in early due to one of our party feeling sick, and all staff were so accomodating.

The location is decent, on the edge of the centre of Chipping Norton. It's only a few minutes walk to the high street. It's also accessible for the main roads and surrounding area, with a big car park for guests.

The immediate surroundings are not kept well. There was rubbish all over the verges, edges of car park, etc. Which ruins the look immediately and degrades the hotel. Someone needs to have a tidyup and take better care of the surroundings. The views from the rooms aren't nice either; don't expect to be looking out at lovely countryside, you'll need to go out for that.

The rooms themselves aren't good. The beds are nice but otherwise... The windows don't open (perhaps for safety or noise reasons), so anyone who is claustrophobic will have a problem, and as a result they get stuffy (despite the basic air conditioning). They are also badly insulated so we could hear everything (and I mean everything!) happening in the adjoining room (and we assume vice versa). Got woken up every time someone walked around in the room above as well.

Finally, the most serious issue, the Wifi doesn't work. We paid additional fees for the faster Wifi, and that didn't work either. A lot of people must use this hotel for work trips, or to do a little bit of work whilst visiting, so it seems ridiculous that this is an issue. No Wifi in this day and age means a hotel is literally useless to nearly everyone. This is really a dealbreaker.

Conclusion: Amazing staff. Terrible facilities. 5 stars for the staff, 1 star for...
