I am ashamed that it has taken me so long to write this review for this AMAZING property! The reason why is because I wanted to give the review the thought and attention it deserves. In one word...WOW! My sister and I were traveling around Michigan with my two teenage children this summer for 2 1/2 weeks. Traverse City was on the itinerary for several days and we had another place booked for this leg of the trip but found this gem that we couldn't resist. Lucky for us, they were opening on the day we needed a place to stay.
We stayed July 1-6, right at the opening and we all feel lucky we got to be the first to stay in this tiny home. I use the word home because it felt like being home (at least I wish my home was this nice...). We first booked the two bedroom for the four of us, but upon thinking about it I decided to splurge for the three bedroom. While we would have been 100% comfortable in the two bedroom, the three bedroom was amazing. Two of the bedrooms were in the "main" house and the third is its own little entity with a separate bathroom, bar area (sink and mini fridge) and king size bed. The teens were thrilled to have their own space for a couple of days.
The attention to detail in the units was obvious. They thought of everything - all cooking supplies, washer/dryer, etc. While it was packed with the essentials, there wasn't any extra fluff (meaning everything in the unit had a purpose and there was no unnecessary junk to clutter the space). We loved this aspect of it. We were lucky to have a unit that was directly above the bike path so as we were drinking our morning coffee or evening wine on the deck, we got to see bikers and walkers going by.
Speaking of the bike path - we rented bikes one day and rode on the TART all the way from our unit to downtown Traverse City - what a huge plus! The units are close enough to the water to walk (we walked down to watch fireworks on July 4th) but not crowded by tons of other rental properties.
The property is new and final details are being added bit by bit. When staying at a new property you expect a couple of bumps. We didn't encounter anything major that affected our stay and any questions we had were answered immediately by the very kind family who owns the property. I would recommend without hesitation that anyone stay here - you will not be disappointed. Thank you for sharing your tiny...
Read moreOur stay at Koti Experience was absolutely wonderful and we could not have asked for a better place for our family get-together. We booked several of the cabins so families could be close by but also have their own space to relax. It was the perfect setup for a relaxing and memorable way to celebrate our anniversary.
The cabins themselves are simply stunning. The clean, minimalist Scandinavian design, with all its functionality and beauty, creates such a warm and inviting atmosphere. The big windows fill the space with natural light and offer peaceful views of the surrounding woods, which truly makes you feel connected to nature. Each cabin was sparkling clean, well-equipped, and exceptionally comfortable. Having full kitchens meant we could enjoy relaxed family meals together, which was a huge plus for our group. The large decks were an ideal gathering spot for the entire family to enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. Beyond the cabins, the location is fantastic. It's a serene, peaceful setting, but still close enough to downtown Traverse City for quick excursions and nearby to a grocery store for a quick trip for essentials. We loved having direct access to the TART trail for walking the dog too.
The entire experience was just what we needed for a peaceful and relaxing weekend together. Sam was so helpful in setting up our group reservation, was responsive and friendly, making the entire check-in and check-out process seamless. From start to finish, our family vacation was perfect. We highly recommend Koti Experience to any family or group looking for a beautiful, comfortable, and unique place to stay. We will most...
Read moreThis was our third trip to Traverse City for a horse show at Flintfields where the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival is located, but our first time staying at KOTI. We stayed in one of the Two Bedroom units and loved everything about our stay. The travel time to the horse show grounds is less than 10 min, and the Meijer grocery store is on the way, which makes it easy to take a break from the show, or shuttle younger riders back and forth. Driving into Traverse city is an easy 15-20 min. The layout of the unit was simple and efficient, with a good, clean modern kitchen, with bar seating and additional Sofa & Chairs for watching TV. The units have high ceilings throughout. There is a large deck off the back of each unit with additional outdoor seating - perfect for Michigan summers. Our favorite part was the cleanliness and responsiveness of the staff. The units all feature hardwood floors throughout, and the bathroom was modern, with a large shower, and also housed the Washer / Dryer. We did not have any issues during our stay but did reach out via phone call with one minor question, and immediately received a call back from the staff with a super helpful response. I was also impressed at how the units are located close to each other, but you really never see your neighbors unless you happen to be walking out to your car at the same time. A very efficient layout with privacy at the same time. We highly recommend KOTI if you are in Traverse City for Horse Shows or vacation, and would absolutely stay...
