JBER FamCamp — Hotel in Alaska

Pretty nice Fam Camp. No full hookup sites, but a dump station on site. Some of the sites are lacking the fitting on the faucet to attach a hose (management says they are on order), so you may want to check that when selecting a site. Two bathhouses with showers and laundry facilities ($1.25 each for washer and dryer.) $30 a night.

BX and Commissary are very close by. So is the runway. This is an Air Force base, so if you don’t like the Sound of Freedom, you may be happier elsewhere. (As someone who once flew fighters at this base, I love it!)

This place could be a nice spot with some repairs. We stayed for 3 nights. The first spot we pulled up to didn't have functioning electricity at the breaker box. The second spot, the water was broken. One of the bathroom/shower buildings was closed. The other building didn't have any hot water and was filthy. We ended up going to the gym (Buckner) to shower. Loved our stay at JBER Fam Camp both times. Very accessible for e writhing we needed to do in Anchorage! We even got to see three moose which was right on our bucket list! We’ve been looking for moose our whole stay in Alaska and we saw three on a military base in the middle of town!
