My wife and I have three kids under six and one is a very stubborn 14 month old. Needless to say our life is hectic and my poor wife never gets to eat a hot meal unless we go out to eat. Also, there are few options for young families in Anchorage to eat. We have eaten here a few times and had either a great experience with a waiter named Shane, or terrible experience with other people. This week topped all bad experiences. It took 20 minutes to seat us, which isn't bad, but the tables were only a little over half full. We finally got seated and ordered, but it took 45 minutes to get our food. By this time our kids were wanting to leave so bad. Our waitress didn't seem to care how long it was taking. To top it off, our food was cold. My wife's burger was the worst and was hardly room temperature. When the manager came out he pretty much said the only option was to remake it but our kids wanted to leave and it was getting late. We finally agreed and it took 10 minutes to get the new burger and by then the rest of us were just about done eating and my kids were screaming and making a scene. My wife bites into to her chilli chilli cheeseburger, and now the beans were hard like popcorn seeds. When we brought this to the attention of the waitress, she just said, "oh, weird", and promptly walked off. The manager and waitress never offered a discount, never offered us refills on anything, and just didn't seem to care at all. I don't think we will be going back to this location. It just is not worth it, especially with BurgerFi right...
Read moreNormally, we have a pretty okay experience here. But today was completely disappointing. We went here today (11/27), which we knew, due to the holiday, that it would be busy. No problem, totally understandable. Upon seeing the wait, we decided to come back in an hour or two, when the crowd thinned out. Which we did. And the crowd had thinned. There were plenty of empty tables and empty closed sections. We were seated and given menus. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. No servers came to take our drinks or food orders. Meanwhile, 2 other tables seated after us, their orders were taken and complicated drink orders were already delivered. Still, not one servers even glanced our way. After we flagged down a server, before we could ask a single question, he threw up his hands and "we're busy. There's nothing we can do", and he walked off.
I understand that the establishment was busy that day, and that the servers were stressed out. Which is completely understandable and we had no problem waiting. However, not even being acknowledged, but everyone around us being helped and then the servers snapping at us, we found completely disappointing.
We eventually just got up and walked out, leaving the menus...
Read moreWe went to Red Robin in Tikatnu Commons in Anchorage to celebrate my birthday. The host seated us in a corner booth in the rear of the restaurant near the kitchen. This was possibly the root of our problems. We were seen quickly and placed our orders for an appetizer and an entree for each of the three of us. Drinks were quickly delivered but then we waited for almost 30 minutes for the wait staff to bring the entrees out. No appetizer was served. We reminded our server that we ordered fried pickles as well as French fries were the main side dish for me but I also ordered a side order of onion rings. Another 30 minutes passed and we were almost finished with our food when the fries and fried pickles came out. No other visits by the server in between these big gaps and no one near enough to ask about anything came near us. Zero concern from the server. I told the server we were very disappointed in the service since it was bad enough to dominate our conversation at dinner. It was not a busy time just poorly managed staff and it’s just too expensive to have a poor experience. Try...
