Kate, who is a new manager at the cafe, is a pleasure to visit with and a talented barista as well. It takes a certain personality to be an excellent barista but then to be the type of person who understands how to do that in a hospital setting, that is a rare find and they are lucky to have her.
One surprise was to find they are serving Mud\Wtr. For those that haven’t tried it, the mix is an extremely healthy alternative to coffee and it is tasty as well. They have all the regular coffee and tea concoctions as well, and sweet treats, and a variety of egg sandwiches too. And yes, of course they have Lotus. If you are looking for a more lunch type sandwich, and only have a quick minute to grab something, the gift shop around the corner has a few options in their case.
The hospital doesn’t appear to recycle, so bring your mug. Unfortunately, the health policy has them needing to use paper cups to pour into your reusable, but if you are ordering more than one drink you might be able to save a few cups. There are some bottle refills in the hospital too, so it’s worth bringing the bottle for water if nothing else.
