The vibration of Maria's sweet home is a low humming calming bliss. My fiance and I loved the low key locale next to the creek-side, and indoors things were always quiet, allowing you to wake up slow. We could sleep in on our off week but we didn't want to due to Maria's delightful breakfast. We aren't fancy but this felt like 5 stars to us, an eclectic experience for breakfast. The OJ, coffee, fruit bowls, eggs, potatoes, bacon or ham, and pancakes w/ toppers she's a great cook. Maria's house was well put together and our room was quite spacious and very cozy with all of the amenities you would want. Anytime we needed something Maria was happy to oblige. Wine opener and glasses, fresh linens, using the microwave upstairs. Her husband talked to us at breakfast about his work and other things about Alaska. It felt like we knew their family right away. Plenty of cute stories to go around. A very homey feeling a love filled household. It was also nice to walk the creek-side after breakfast. We have a small budget and were well able to afford this. Will definitely be going back just out of appreciation for what...

Read moreMaria and Bob were just delightful. We arrived late, 1130pm, and their communication, attentiveness, and flexibility was just what we needed after some long travel (arrived from Germany). In the morning, the breakfast was "family style", with fresh coffee and juice, whatever Maria is making for breakfast that day, and sitting at the table with the other guests (the B&B holds three parties). My wife and I love to travel, and part of the joy is in meeting and conversing with others, hearing stories, telling stories, maybe even encouraging others or taking the opportunity to show small kindnesses here and there. At Maria's Creekside B&B, that spirit and environment is clearly present. I would imagine it's not for everyone, but for us it was a 5 star experience. The location is 15 min drive/Uber/Lyft from the Ted Stevens Anchorage airport, and about ~15 min drive from the downtown area. There is parking available onsite, and btw we also saw some HUGE red salmon in their creek (2+ ft!). For a home-y experience, we...
