The people here are absolutely fantastic. They are warm friendly and helpful. I will share the reason that I only gave 3 stars for my visit. First of all, they were unprepared for my arrival and after traveling 14 hours I just wanted to get into my Room. When I arrived, There was a sign on the office door to go to the restaurant for checking in. The lights were off in the restaurant. I went back to the office and a very sweet lady helped me and said they should not have placed that sign on the door. I had to wait about 30 minutes because they had to start their computer and then go to the restaurant to make me a Room key.
Second, This was my 1st trip to Alaska and I am unsure by their definition of what a resort is. There is a restaurant on site that is open most evenings. The Room was very standard. It was nicely cleaned and maintained but at the end of the day was only very standard.
The people were super friendly it was just a very average experience in terms of amenities and...
Read moreNot really a resort. There are only about 12 rooms and there are no resort benefits, other than being next to the restaurant. No breakfast provided but there is a coffee stand in the upper parking lot, and Holey Moley donuts is pretty close, and they were just wonderful!|Not much signage or explanations. We had to check in at the Everett restaurant desk, and the morning we checked out the restaurant was closed. Finally tracked down someone from housekeeping.|Room size was okay, bathroom very small. Plenty of storage in the main room, but no desk and the only chair was a hard straight-backed chair. The shower knob had to be pulled out straight, and it was hard to do.|Housekeeping didn't replace the already empty kleenex box or leave an extra roll of toilet paper, but when we asked they brought them within 10 minutes.|View from the 2nd floor balcony was really nice. Read moreThe location of Mat-Su Resort is excellent, with a beautiful view from the terrace — dining there was definitely a highlight. The staff were very kind and helpful, which made the stay more pleasant. Having a private door that opened directly onto a small lakeside terrace was a wonderful bonus.|However, there were some downsides. The restaurant didn’t open for breakfast until 11 a.m., which made it difficult to have a proper morning meal. Most of the available “quick breakfast” options were limited to omelets with bacon or pancakes, but as someone who follows a healthy vegetarian diet, I found it challenging to find suitable choices. Since it was off-season, many other places nearby were closed as well.|The room was also missing basic kitchenware — apart from cups and saucers, there were no dishes or utensils, so preparing anything simple wasn’t possible. The internet connection was weak, which was inconvenient for me as I...
