My boyfriend and I were in Anchorage last weekend to run Mayor's Half Marathon and were running out of options since all the hotels in the area were full. We happened across Planet Anchorage B & B and as soon as we walked in the door were so pleased to have had the opportunity to stay there. JoAnna, the owner, was so sweet to us. We had been camping for a few days prior to arriving in Anchorage and it felt like we had a friend welcome us right into her place. The bed was comfortable and the food was fresh and wonderful and prepared with love. We were more than ready for our race the next day after waking up to a delicious breakfast. I would highly recommend this place to anyone traveling in the area. Read moreLocated in a quiet residential area, it was $25 inc tip taxi fare from the airport. JoAnna was welcoming, helpful and engaging and put a great, freshly cooked breakfast each morning. Breakfasts became social occasions chatting with JoAnna and her other guests. Had a great sleep in the very comfortable bed. The shared bathroom was immaculately clean with big fluffy towels. We had the Japanese themed room downstairs, but heard no noises/footsteps from above.|Planet B and B has a very reasonable tariff by Anchorage standards and far more character than any similarly priced barren motel room. Read moreSpent 3 nights at Planet Anchorage with Joanna. Bed was comfortable, price was fantastic and breakfast was delicious. Joanna was a great host having good conversation, helpful with how to ride the bus and allowing me to leave my luggage until later in the day for my flight home. It's a little more than a mile and a half to center city Anchorage but the walk is safe and a great way to enjoy a beautiful day. Bus stop is a very short walk from her front door and was easy to ride to and from city. Will stay here again when I am back...
