To state that this was a disappointment hardly begins to cover it. My wife and I are both retired and disabled. We booked the Baymont by Wyndham Albany because although it was a couple of dollars more, we thought it might be nice to have an indoor pool. We also needed a pet friendly hotel as we have a retired service dog. Well, when we booked the hotel online, there was an additional $20 charge for the pet friendly room. (Not unexpected ad most hotels charge $10-$20 for pets). Upon arriving, we were asked if we had a pet. I explained that I did, AND that I paid the additional $20 for the pet friendly room. That did not matter. We were charged another $20, on top of what we had already paid, for a total of an additional $40, plus tax, for our dog! Upon getting into the room it looked as though the beds had already been slept in. Possibly they keep their sheets and blankets wadded up in a glove compartment or someplace similar. Really, I don’t know HOW you wrinkle up sheets and blankets this bad. When my wife opened the door to get more of our belongings, I noticed a chill next to the window. I pulled back the curtains, only to find that the window, was not even closed. Mind you this is February in Minnesota. The window was open so that anyone could walk up to it and come thru from outside. There is a security, prop stick to block the window from opening, however, it is too long to do any good even after I closed the window. I went to move the lamp on the desk, but it wobbled when I went to set it down. This was due to the fact that there was no bottom on the lamp and the wires were dangling out. As far as the indoor pool, there was a paper sign stuck to the door stating that it was closed for maintenance. When I mentioned something to the desk, she stated that they thought it was ‘too cold’ in there to have the pool open. (Turn up the heat)! Speaking of heat, the shower was SO COLD as to be almost painful. Even when we were done, the water was barely luke warm. The breakfast was OK, but we had to inform the clerk that the ‘coffee’ was only ‘water’. After he fixed it, it was almost drinkable as it was so very strong. Upon checking out, we again brought several of these concerns to the receptionist. Although she was very apologetic, she made no attempt to compensate us in any way. This was a disappointment in every possible way. We could have stayed at another hotel, with our dog, for nearly half the price! They should be ashamed...
Read moreI stayed there last Friday evening. I had numerous dead bugs 🐞 n my floor which is lack of housekeeping along with a ton of live box elder bugs everywhere. Then to top It off I found 2 random pills on my floor and I had my toddler with me, the front desk was helpful but unable to give me refund I have been trying to call the manager daily and with multiple messages left he has not returned my call or pick up the phone when I know he was working the desk. Never have I ever had such poor customer service especially from a manager. Kat and Justin who work the front have been nothing but exceptional in trying to help me. Trying to get ahold of the owner is a joke as well. Very frustrated and will never go back
Update: finally talked to someone other than the front desk people. Claimed she was the head housekeeper. Tried telling me the pills I found weren’t harmful to my kids and that they had the bug man come in and she didn’t know what room he went in to spray for bugs so they wouldn’t of known about the bugs. First of all I used to work at a hotel when the bug man come in you know what rooms they go in and second she had no idea what was in one of the pills capsules so not sure how she can say it’s safe for my babies. Plus the audacity she had to speak to me the way she did was very unprofessional especially when she is a housekeeper trying to take the matter into her hands and handle it instead of the manager. Still nothing back. I have called corporate and made a massive complaint. This hotel is garbage and I would not...
Read moreStay here every year for a specific event in Albany. It is in an excellent location for our purposes. Within 5 miles of everything we need. The hotel has a small breakfast with hard boiled eggs, toast, muffins, hot option, and has a waffle maker. Coffee, juice, milk, yogurt. The breakfast area is a decent sized room and the hotel has allowed use of the room in the past for evening meeting purposes. Pool was a bit cool temperature and a little small, but sufficient.. Hot tub was good and hot. Clean pool area. They have some pool toys. Shower in pool area. There is a nice clean bathroom between pool and breakfast area. There is a small exercise room off the pool area with a couple machines. There is a desk, computer in entrance if absolutely needed for internet needs. Our room was spacious as we had a suite with additional room. Fairly standard for hotels. Fridge, microwave. Standard bathroom with tub/shower. 2 TV in suite with 2 rooms. Temperature control. Only downfall would be drawers in room needed to be wiped out, just dust particulate. Staff very helpful, quick to service. Polite as well. Walking distance of much activities. There is a supper club that can be walked to through the parking lot that has excellent food. A&W, subway, Holiday gas station and another gas station are about 1 block away. Fitness center. CVS drug store also near if forget some essentials. There is a wonderful barber shop just about 2 blocks north...highly recommended him across from CVS. Atmosphere and...
