Within minutes of checking into the hotel and settling into the room two hispanic gentlemen knocked on the door. Not expecting anyone the door was answered to inform the gentlemen on the other side that they had the wrong room. The gentlemen apologized and walked off. Growing weary of her safety, my partner locked the emergency dead bolt on the door and attempted to get rest as it was nearly 0400am and I was off the compound for work as I am a professional driver and received a call minutes after checking in. Roughly ten minutes after the initial knock on the door there was a second loud bang on the door. Too afraid to open the door a second time, She looked out the peephole and noticed that there was an entourage of about 6 men to include the two previous gentlemen that knocked on the door and a hispanic female. In addition to banging on the door, they also attempted to use a key to open the door and turned the handle. As this was happening, she immediately called me to inform me of the situation and I instantly called the front office and spoke to the gentlemen that initially checked us in and was advised that he would check on the matter along with security only after I threatened to call the police because there appeared to be a lack of concern of my complaint and an extreme lack of urgency. The attendant came to the floor that we were assigned and instantly went to the door to the right of our room and loudly advised that the occupants that they were going to be asked to vacate the premises due to a complaint from the occupants of room 270 which was the room that I was assigned. We were completely shocked for several reasons, under no circumstances did we reveal who knocked on the door outside of a description of the individuals so it came as a shocking surprise that the attendant would go to the room next to us. , he immediately knocked on our door where my partner vocalized her concern with the attendant revealing her identity and demanded a room change. During this time, the attendant became very disrespectful by way of not listening to my partners complaint. Once she threatened to call the police, the attendant agreed to swap rooms for her/us. During this time, my partner walked with the attendant to the front office while the security guard went his own way and the attendant quickly walked ahead of her again disregarding her concerns regarding her safety. Once my partner entered the front desk area, the attendant was behind the desk handling the transaction for the transfer when the initial two gentlemen and the female walked into the lobby and slammed a room key on the front desk as an intimidation tactic. The attendant didn't ask the individuals if they had a problem, wanted to check out or anything but ignored them as if he were familiar with them. The key to the second room was issued and my partner walked back to the new room without there being an offer of a security escort. As a result, she was in the room no less than five minutes before calling an uber to vacate the premises. I am extremely disappointed and highly upset that this situation happened but what was most disheartening was how my partner was treated by your staff. I will never patronize this establishment again and highly recommend that the operator/manager look into this matter and address the issue at hand before someone gets seriously hurt due to a lack of regard for the well being of your guest. Once I ensured my partner was safe, I called to the front office a second time and demanded a refund. The best thing that happened that night outside of my partner getting away unscathed was the willingness of the attendant to issue a full refund without hesitation. The circumstances of the events that took place were very sketchy and leaves me under the impression that perhaps this is something that happens quite often...
Read moreWhen we arrived, we discovered that there are 2 front desks because a Days Inn and the Super 8 share the front office building. The sign outside had both a Days Inn sign and Super 8. Just seemed odd. I accidentally went in the Days Inn side, but the guy at the desk just switched his computer over to Super 8 instead of Days Inn.
While this motel had a fairly clean room, there were lots of things that made this stay not that good. The floor in room looked clean, but our bare feet picked up dark colored dirt that came off in the shower. The tub could not be used for a bath because the drain stop is broken. There was a smell in the room that got worse when humidity went up like after a shower and when it rained outside.
The matress was smaller than the bed frame. I think it was a full sitting on a queen frame. The TV was situated to the side of the bed instead of at the foot which made watching the TV uncomfortable for very long.
Some details aren't that important to me like the fact the fast dial buttons on the telephone didn't work. To call the front desk I had to dial the motel instead of the button. Almost no outlets. Plugging in our chargers required us to unplug some of there stuff. The noise from other guests was pretty noticeable. People talking in front of their room sound like talking in front of our door. Noise from above was significant. The coffee maker in the room worked, but in 4 days staying, they never replenished the coffee supplies.
The fridge and microwave were clean and worked. The sheets were clean. Pillows clean. Bed, chairs, tables, were clean. Decor was fine. Seemed recently updated even if the walls and ceilings were a little rough from all the years. There was a safe in the room, but it didn't work. The room also had a hair dryer and clothes iron but we did try to use those.
The lock was a tap key card and worked fine. Put the card in my wallet and it worked just by touching my wallet to the lock.
Breakfast was so so. Cereal and milk. Bread. Peach was the only flavor of yogurt. Coffee was okay! We ended up eating at nearby restaurants instead, because they really didn't have food for breakfast we liked.
The area seemed safe. Lots of restaurants and shopping around. Several other motels and hotels nearby.
If I come to DC area again, I will try to find somewhere else,...
Read moreThe absolute worst hotel I’ve ever booked. First they advertise having a fridge and microwave in the room as well as having a pool and breakfast but the hotel has NONE of these things. The first room I checked into was gross with stains on the bed, one of the stains still wet. When I complained, they switched my room to the 3rd floor. The elevator was broken so now I had to lug all the luggage up 3 flights of stairs with my 7 year old son. We get to the room and because there was no fridge as advertised, we had to put ice in a cooler to keep our food cold. But the ice machine on the 3rd floor was broken. We had to go down to the next floor, carrying a big cooler down and up the stairs. Then when we finally get settled into the new room, the tv didn’t work. That was the last straw so I decided not to stay and left. I booked on Priceline and when I explained the situation they said I was eligible for a full refund. The lady at the front desk was completely clueless and said I had to speak to a manager who “might” be there the next day. I called and called for a week now trying to reach the manager as I cannot get my refund without the manager approving it. The manager seems to never be there and still have not received a refund for a place I didn’t even stay at. Cheap is not always better, please save yourself the stress and trust the reviews, this is a horrible hotel. **UPDATE since I cannot comment back to the owner, I never received a refund and I never even ended up staying there because of this experience. Guest satisfaction is definitely not your utmost priority when I never got any response or refund and now it's 3 months later. I'm glad this review was helpful to others because this hotel is absolutely disgusting and the customer service is just as bad. I shouldn't have been charged for 2 nights at a hotel I didn't even stay at, I should have received a full refund. The response from the owner 3 months later with no solution just shows how careless and unprofessional this...
