Angels Inn, Angels Camp — Hotel in Angels Camp

This place is absolutely awful. The rooms are unkempt and poorly cleaned(everything from dirty sheets and unmade beds to dirty floors, dirty towels, dirty... well you get the idea). The door handles are shot and require special "tricks" to operate properly(the lazy owner shows you these tricks instead of actually spending the money to have them repaired). A friend of mine actually had their handle fall right off the door! But one of the worst parts for me is the poor availability of reliable internet. I travel for work, so I need a reliable internet connection to conduct important business, such as filling out online forms. In off times it will work marginally, but during most daily hours, the wifi will not work AT ALL. Sure enough, when I ran a network diagnostic, it mentioned that the network administrator had tampered with the connection. When the owner was confronted about this, he made multiple excuses, but acted as though he was hiding his guilt. I beg you, avoid this place at all costs unless you want to have a headache of a stay. I'd be staying in a nearby cave over this place, provided it were not...

We booked a room here mainly because it was pretty much the only place we found that was dog friendly. Check in was quick and easy and the man behind the counter was pretty friendly. We only got one key card, so that was a bit unusual, but that was fine. The room was pretty clean, though you could tell they basically just swap out the linens and vacuum. We found some trash behind the TV and the toilet bowl wasn't particularly clean. Our dog also managed to find some pumpkin seeds under one of the beds. To be fair it is a pretty inexpensive motel that is dog friendly, so I wouldn't expect it to be pristine, but that was dirtier than it should have been. Beds were definitely coil spring, but fairly comfortable. The climate control, tv, fridge, and microwave all worked great. This is a great inexpensive place to stay if you've got pets and are basically looking for a bed...

The only good thing I can say about this place is that the linens were clean. When I arrived to check in the manager said I did not have a reservation. I showed my reservation email to Raj the manager and he continued to claim I did not have a reservation while he canceled it. I got an email confirming the cancelation at the same time we were talking. I should have trusted my instincts and left but Raj created a new booking and checked me in. The first night my car was hit by another person staying there. I requested security video and reported it to the police. I have still not been provided the video and was told I would be refunded the second night but was not. The people here lie, there is lots of drug activity in the parking lot and many of the rooms are occupied by people that live here. Save yourself the hassle, aggravation, and money and...
