Staff doesn't care that their website is inaccurate ("free 'FULL' breakfast" means more than toast, bagels and cereal)... When I notified the night staff, he said that no one else ever complains-- When I notified the day staff, he said "but oh yes, we continental breakfast." I informed him that his website stated that they had a full breakfast and that a 'full breakfast' is not a 'continental', to which he started saying "well, in previous days," --so, I interrupted him and just asked for those previous days' room rates, but he just laughed and threw up his hands... I know it's a minor detail, but I live out of these places for work; I read the reviews of the 2 hotels in town, and picked this one because they sounded better online: What a joke! The AC doesn't cool the room under 72' even though it's nearly freezing outside (halloween '23 in Ark City). The bathroom door doesn't even stay shut. I posted a 3 second clip of that, as well as a pic of thermostat and the AC that looks like it was installed around the time of the moon landing...vintage, in other words. And, good lord, the shower is terrible. The showers' water control knob is a dreaded '80s memory like trying to land on the carrier in Top-Gun...the slightest wrong move and you're either freezing or scalded. The curtain is barely hung on the wall anymore, and it's one of the semicircular rods that makes the curtain arc away from the base about 36"x6" onto the tile spilling water everywhere. Furthermore, there's no floor drain in the bathroom; & it's furnished like a single-wide house trailer from the '80s. The room does have decent wifi and cox cable with about a 32" hisense flat screen. There are fairly good lights but also two light switches that don't work. There's a coffee maker with a filter basket and the flat filter packs with about a Kcup's worth of stale coffee. There's a mini fridge with a top freezer slot and a microwave accompanying plenty of usb power ports for charging. There's a pool and an arcade that closes at night. The ice maker on the 2nd floor is rumored to work... But, the first floor one certainly does not. I'm not super excited about the adjoining room set up; I prefer no unsecured doors (unbarred or unable to be locked more than deadbolting) in my rooms. I imagine that someone somewhere has a key to or at least the experience to pick this lock. Now the more I think about it, the less comfortable I feel here.

After reading the reviews I found after I checked in that you have to take reviews with a grain of salt. I traveled with my family which consisted of three children and we stayed for the night but found the hotel to be quiet the rooms were nice The beds were a little hard but manageable. The pool unfortunately was already closed for the night but it looked clean as well as the hot tub. There was also in the atrium area next to that a pool table and several games that you could play. There was an enclosed breakfast area for the free breakfast that was available. The free breakfast was amazing as well as the customer service. The only small complaint I had was the fact that the room that I had was connected to an adjoining room, and apparently someone else had checked in way after we had gone to bed and I didn't realize it was an adjoining room and the door was not locked and they actually walked into our room and woke my son up. The gentleman quickly turned around and left but he did apologize before leaving. I do want to add that if you forgot a wall charger that they have built-in chargers on the lamps that were on top of where the television was and also where the lamps were between the two beds. Overall very satisfied with my stay and the next time that I go back to Ark City to visit family I will definitely booking a room there!

This is a decent place to stay 👍 Did not see any justification for the attack 'reviews'. 🤔 Staff is all super friendly. Building is very unique with a HUGE atrium indoor pool area and it is built out of concrete so its like a giant tornado bunker. Room was clean , all new paint , new linens & towels . Bed was comfy , new mw & fridge. Room could use a table to sit at for a work space but nbd. The breakfast room was well organized and maintained , waffles , yogurt etc. My only request there would be some mw bfast sandwiches or pre packaged boiled eggs, I can understand not having a hot buffet during the slow travel seasons. Some folks need to quit making up complaints about weird 'smells' ... its called an indoor pool 😅 Small Chlorine /pool smell in some places , but not something to complain about. Maybe when the weather is nice they can ventilate more often, fans , open windows. In all - this is a respectable family run hotel and I'd stay again anytime 👍👍👍

This is the worst place we have ever been. Went in guess what no reservation I made it in sep so after 20 minutes arguing THEY FOUND IT. Said it was a 3rd party booking not there problem it was terrible. We will get into room problem in a moment Day 2. I had booked a room for my kids. Under me so when I went to get the key. HERE WE GO AGAIN. They could not find it gave the reservation # can't find it. ..... back to room look all unfo up.....back to desk. Showed then the bank records where I paid. Copy of the things they sent me they still can't find any thing... we argue. I ask for his name he paused and said. Eric his name tag was upside down when I tried to read it he takes off it was longer than 4 letters so he lied. About came unglued about my camers and went behind a wall to hide he lied ..... So I ...went back to room called priceline they find it and call place.. so I go back up again...... now Manger is there. We argue again because I don't have the ID of person staying in room.. she's not there and wanted to have what was needed so would not have go to war again. Called them jerks and a few other things and went back to room...Told hubby let's leave I can't take any more of this place.. We start packing.. then get a knock on door...they called the COPS. I told the officer what was going on and said we are packing to leave.. they then left... Of. The room felt like we were sleeping on the floor. Pillows like rocks. Hot as H when we went in... coffee machine not working...Key had issues someone else let us in. Bathroom was dirty a tile above shower was out if place looked strange we did not shower. ..Tp was hard and from recycled paper.. . I could go on and on about this nasty terrible place. The supper RUDE front desk... things they have on web site are false... the pool not available the breakfast was not what promises hard dropped out bread toaster no work. Had cheap 2% milk not even the good stuff muffins were stale no apple juice only orange not everyone can drink that. Waffle batter was stale. Margin no butter. Apple had bad spots rotten. The full breakfast the brag about it's not even a snack. To top this all off I brought my dogs they are small they charged me 15 each on them. Per day. They are pad trained when we left. I did not pick them up normally we would nope they can do it.they did not care that 2 are medical alert they charged anyways I DO NOT TRUST them at all I canceled my card so they can not charge anymore on it. We did not get key for room they did not refund they stole it. Priceline is no help they did not refund any thing. Said to take it up with them which said it's a third party they don't have it. All in all I know I don't have it. Will hover use priceline again And yes I have photos and videos Don't stay there. I'm not the only one that had problems this weekend Find some where else RUDE, nasty, liers, terrible Terrible place

Take my advice, JUST DON'T! I found a hand drawn picture of a man's pivate parts in my room at the Quality Inn in Arkansas City, Kansas during the Arkalalah festival, which goes to show me that the rooms are never cleaned, and showed it. Also, my bathtub drain did not work and we couldn't drain the water out after taking a shower. The breakfast people could not keep up with breakfast, there was never much food put out. A lot of people waiting on it if you could get it. The hot tub jets were shooting out cold water and it was blamed on Quality Water that was literally steps away from their building. I was told that Quality Water would get a call from them and wouldn't show up for days. I was also told that there was an electrical problem with the hot tub. I asked why it wasn't fixed before Arkalalah. I was told that there was nothing they could do about it. While on that subject, I got to watch a bunch of 12 year old kids having a birthday party there, dive continuously head-on into the hot tub. Yes, the hot tub. Nobody seemed to care. Was sitting in the lobby and heard the owner tell a couple that came in for a room and didn't like the price and was walking out, "oh here I'll give you another price," and gave them a much lower price other than what I had to pay. Yes, this was done by the owner himself. When I talked to the front desk regarding all of this, the lady working the front desk tells me she doubts this. I asked her come check out my room for herself. No, the the owner who is now sleeping because he lives there, would be called. I stood there while she called him and after she talked to him for a few minutes she asked me if I could come back in a few minutes. Went back to the room, came back, and was told "the owner told me he really doesn't care." She then proceeded to tell me that it was run by all people from India. What did I expect?? This coming from a 50 year old white woman. I asked her to call him again and let him know that I would not be back. That I give them my money every time I am in Ark City. She proceeded to call him back and wake him up again, which afterwards she told me really pissed him off, and he still gave the response "I don't care." She then says there was nothing she could do about it. I now understand why the hotel parking lot was so empty during the city's busiest time of year. I will be staying in Winfield the next...
