I was looking for a wedding venue in the Asheville area for only 12 people. A lot Of places offer an elopement package for 12 or so guests. But Albemarle had the best package options and Rosemary was so quick to assist with any questions we had. We chose the Sunday afternoon package and stayed in the Juliet Suite for the weekend. The breakfast we were served was unbelievable and the food for our wedding was so incredibly good. While we were taking photos they had a small cheese tray with hummus and breads, I didn’t get a break to eat but my family was raving about it to me. We did not taste the food beforehand but had a lot of options to choose from for the reception meal, the beef tenderloin was so perfectly cooked and almost to much food. The lemon chicken was also very good. The rolls were so good we all asked for more. The champagne was fantastic even my mom drank a whole glass (and she does not drink champagne). We also choose to have a wedding cake at our reception but did not pick what kind, but let me tell you, my mom baked cakes for 30 years and even this outshined my moms cake by leaps and bounds, so moist with a hint of lemon and shaved chocolate on the outside. The small detail that was a lifesaver for my sister was since we had a room at the Inn and our ceremony/reception happened around nap time we were able to set up a port a crib in the bedroom with a monitor and my sister and brother in law could enjoy the entire afternoon without worrying about their daughter. From start to finish, visiting, planning and day of event I was so happy to entrust everything to Rosemary and Fabrizio and their staff, it was super stress free and easy (I am not a very picky bride). My husband and I bought mugs from the Inn and have enjoyed remembering our wedding every time we use them. Also highly recommend Ashley Haynes for your photographer she was fantastic and the pictures were better then I imagined they could be. I can’t wait to go back...
Read moreThe Albemarle Inn (no longer a B&B) • They advertise a continental breakfast, but it’s barely a continental snack at best. They offered a big communal bowl of vanilla flavored yogurt, bagels (probably a variety pack from Harris Teeter) with packaged cream cheese, hard boiled eggs, a bowl of oranges, and what they called pastries (brown muffin or prepackaged chocolate bars). Nothing special, nothing home baked. All other guests were dreadfully disappointed – not even close to a breakfast at Holiday Inn Express. First timers loved the mansion, hated the breakfast and will not be return visitors. With all the bakeries in town – they could at least have an arrangement to bring in fresh pastries. • The Albemarle web site describes the continental breakfast. However, if you’re searching for a B&B (using B&B as a filter) Trip Advisor, Travel US News, Booking.com, Expedia, Select Registry among others – the Albemarle is still listed as a B&B. Beware!! • Little things – e.g. advertise coffee at 8:00, breakfast 8:30. The earliest fresh coffee was out at 8:10 and as late as 8:30. We asked about this – response – well just use the Keurig coffee maker. • Housekeeping – now occurs after 3 nights stay. Our room was damp (despite the mini split A/C) to the point towels would not dry overnight. If your room is damp, unless you ask specifically for new towels, you’ll be drying yourself with wet ones in the morning. • On the flip side, the staff are extremely friendly. • We stayed numerous times, when they had a true breakfast. The prior owners, Fabrizio & Rosemary Chiariello, really cared, interacted with guests and made it a very welcome place. The current owners, the GBX Group, a financial investment corporation out of Cincinnati, have 211 real estate holdings in 24 states. If you want support Asheville, book at a locally owned B&B that really has...
Read moreMy husband and I booked this place for a weekend getaway. We wanted to explore Asheville and surrounding area. ||The location is good, wouldn’t say it’s super walkable to any of the good restaurants or businesses but good if you plan on driving from place to place. ||The room was very clean. Bed was comfortable, we slept very well, which is usually a problem for me away from home. Amenities were all as expected. We had the room with the balcony-Juliet Suite. Very beautiful. The home is gorgeous and historic. Very cozy. Linens were nice. Area felt very safe. ||My only concern was the breakfast. For the price, I feel like a decent breakfast should be offered. All you will get is a basic continental breakfast in the common area. I was very disappointed in this regard. Should at least have scrambled eggs or something of that nature but no, just ready made items like boiled eggs, bagels, etc. The host kept saying that Hurricane Helene had somehow caused a change in the menu…..not really sure how that played a role considering most the restaurants in the area were up and running just as before. He apologized several times, so I am assuming it’s has been a common complaint. This was him already apologizing upon our checking in, not as if we had already checked in and experienced the breakfast for our selves. I just feel like if you already have to apologize before hand, do something about it if you want to continue to run a successful business. Offer something that will keep people coming back or make them feel like they got what they paid for. ||If they would improve upon the breakfast, this place would be an easy 5 stars. I would still recommend staying here for the comfort and cleanliness. Just don’t expect a breakfast that’s going to knock your socks off. There’s several great breakfast places in the area if that kind of breakfast isn’t...
