The Grovewood Gallery is my favorite gallery to browse and shop. Best of all, since it is located in Grovewood Village, you can park in the museum lot for free and avoid the excessive fees the Omni charges.
On my last visit, I was staying at the hotel, so I didn't drive there, so I had to limit my purchases to be able to get them back to the hotel. I was hoping to go back on checkout day, but they had me exit the other way.
Besides the 9000 ft gallery, there is a sculpture garden outside. I love looking at the variety of art. Some pieces I really loved were more than I could afford but I can still appreciate them. Read moreBest boutique gift shop in Asheville, if not the mountain region. The staff are kind, genuine, and knowledgeable about the art and gifts. If you are seeking to buy a special gift, then look no further. If you have time, following your leisure shopping experience, take a moment to enjoy lunch at the Golden Fleece Restaurant. They have great food, (for the most part, especially when they are on their game). This cozy restaurant is reminiscent of an European Cottage or Inn, Cafe. The interior is cozy, comfortable and offers a lovely menu with a Greek flair. In particular, I always enjoy their lamb burger. Sit for a moment at their lovely bar, where you will be treated like you would at your...

When I tried to look in one of the cases, one employee, standing behind plexiglass, decided to instruct me on proper face mask placement, despite the fact that both my mouth and nose were fully covered and that the governor has lifted the face mask mandate. It was clearly a case of a 20-something giving instructions to an adult. I will not be spending any money there--vote with...
