First off, the aren't open even though the page says they are. Many rooms were destroyed due to hurricane helene, they need to update this. They refuse to respond to emails to get answer for refunds or to get our stuff. When asked they just ignored it and put up a fence around the property, so legal action will have to be taken to get our money back as well as to cover the lose from them stealing people's property. It isn't legal for them to keep people away from their own property just for the hotel owner to trash or sell them. I already got one of my bags that had been dumped out just to hold wires.
I do see where they removed several reviews on here that mention them being closed due to hurricane damage, which is odd tbh.
Now for the main part. Before the storm the rooms where cheaply done, the whole place would shake if you walked too fast or hard in the room and this applies to the rooms adjacent as well. The rooms were supposed to be non smoking but it's clear people smoked there anyways, worse was how bad the weed was my kids woke up several times because of how much people were smoking it (probably was sitting outside the window, all the rooms are ground floor) I could care less if someone is smoking weed but if it affects my kids and I have to explain to the school why they show up to school smelling like weed well then I have a problem with it. I was also told that we had to wash the bed sheets and blankets our selves or else we would be charged $200 for it (this was the hotels bed linens mind you) so that means we couldn't ask for fresh ones when we needed it without being charged for it, they also never cleaned the room but to take out the towels regardlessif we used them or not or JUST GOT THEM. Which is not the standard for hotels in the first place, sweeping and mopping the rooms (when they don't have carpets like this hotel) replacing the towels and bedding is the standard, the guest isn't supposed to be the one cleaning the room after room service stopped in. My room was positioned just right for the leaves to be blown against the door so when you opened it on a windy day the leaves come flying in and with no broom to sweep them out they pile up fast, so you have to go find one of the...
Read morePros: The guy in the front office was super nice as was every staff member we dealt with during our visit. The beds were EXTREMELY comfortable. The mini fridge had a freezer. And there is a little dog park area to take your dogs! Cons: Upon arrival people were fighting in the neighboring gas station parking lot which wasn't a big deal, but it terrified the kids and like 4 cops and an ambulance came. Then we got into our "newly remodeled" room. Let's just say I used a ton of clorox wipes before we even felt a little comfortable sleeping there. It was the dirtiest motel I have personally ever stayed in, but I am generally good at reading reviews etc. There was hair and dirt in and on the shower, gunky stuff all over the bathroom door that was easily wiped away, hair on the counter, hair and dust on the rack by the sink and multiple places, hair on three different pillows that I noticed... soo freaking gross I was ready to look for a new hotel. But we wiped everything down and decided to tough it out since it was so late. The water temp in the sink and shower constantly fluctuated between hot and cold so we couldn't have a decent shower, the beds were strangely high off the ground... like half a foot above the night stand, the power shut off in our room one night, but we called the front and it was fixed immediately. The floors were hardwood so with no doormat or broom in the room it didn't make much sense..we just needed shoes inside at all times. The free "breakfast" was packaged treats like apple pies and Danishs only. The neighbors complained about my son being to loud after 11 am... overall it was just a small dirty room with new way too tall mattresses. And free breakfast was a huge part of our choice so I was surprised they only had sugar. Definitely would not stay again... but it...
Read moreThe beds were fine, but everything else about this place was atrocious! If had not been awake for 42 hours straight, we would have turned the keys in immediately and left, but it was a holiday weekend and everything was booked solid. It had dead bugs stuck to the wall, dirty skin cells and hair under a plastic mat in the bathtub. The mat was partially stuck to the floor of the tub. I of course I didnt use the shower! I washed off in the sink, like people did in the "old days". There was no clock, ironing board, hair dryer, etc. Ceilings were only abput 7 feet high and it was dark and dingy. I would not put our clothes in the dresser, because, there were some type of specks in the drawers. It was so dim in the room, I couldnt tell if they were bugs or rat pills, so I left our clothes in our suitcases. Due to the condition of our room, we didn't even consider eating the continental breakfast! When checking out, we discovered the person working the night before was having to work the next day also, because someone didn't show up to work. I realize this was a Super 8, but it also said by Wyndham, so I thought it would at least be clean. I knew it wouldn't have all the amenities of more upscale facilities, but I think all motels or hotels, that charge for spending the night, should have to meet a specific level of cleanliness. We did not even bother bringing these things up to the desk clerk, because, in was clear, if anyone cared, the room would not have been in that condition in the first place. We just checked out and vowed to never make this...
