I'm trying to post this as many places as possible so people will be warned. This place is a health hazard. My husband and I drove through a night from Chicago to NC and were exhausted, and this was the first motel we came across in Asheville. We asked the manager if we could just stay there for the day, not even a night. He said the rate was $85 which I found to be high, but we accepted. We got into the room (the door was wide open by the way, not sure why) and the room STUNK. It smelled like ten people had been smoking cigars in there for a year straight, plus a thick musky moldy smell. I had to hold my nose. We were so tired I turned down the bedsheet to try and take a nap... I figured I'd just deal with it. The pillows were covered in hair. The sheets were FILTHY. Stains, hair, crusty stuff. All over the sheets and pillowcases. I can't even imagine this place could still be in operation. I don't believe for a second they washed their sheets more than once per week. It was just filthy. Anyway, when we went back to the office to ask for a refund, he insisted he show us another "non-smoking room", which we went to see. It was almost exactly the same scenario. It just didn't smell AS bad as the first room. When we finally put our foot down and insisted we just wanted out money back, he said he would do it but he needed to charge us a $25 "fee" because we "messed up the bed." I never do this, but I actually shouted at him that he was trying to scam us and no hotel should be this filthy. He also tried to charge me $2.50 tax on the make-believe fee. I argued with him until he just removed the tax. I can not believe I actually paid $25 to walk into the dirtiest, smelliest hotel room I've ever seen and just ask for my money back. Please people, do not go to this place. There are some OK reviews for this hotel, but they have to be fake. I can't see how any human being who values their hygeine and health could even breathe the air in this place and not...
Read moreAt one point in time, this motel had one of the best pillows I had ever slept on! It was a full body pillow, exceptionally plush and, full in length! And, it was during the dead of Summer of last year, when I had booked my first stay over here.
The man who arranged my room booking almost profusely warned me about how the TV was out of order. I told him I did not care, I just needed a room to stay in. Of course, he willingly provided, since I obviously had the coin to spare. Sadly, I was not able to bathe, only shower, as needed. And, being unable to shower applied for both of my stays. Meaning, the one from last summer, plus my most recent one, from the 19th of last month until the 25th of it.
A lot has changed about the motel, at least in reference to the rooms. One of the best features is its location, which is located conveniently right in front of what I consider to be the very best supermarket I have ever shopped in! It is called Ingles, but what really sets this angles apart from all the others I've been to, it's not only the presence of a fuel station, complete with its own separate convenience store, or shop as I like to say, but most importantly, employees willingness to allow for the utilizationof an in-store ingalls advantage card! Most of the other angle markets I've been to, which is basically all of them, do not have a spare ingalls card for a customer utilization. Plus, there are plenty of other neat bonuses about ingalls itself, which I can and will get into at a later date.
For those wishing to book a stay at whispering pines, they're full length pillows may be gone, however, they're cleaning service and convenient location, coupled with their simplicity help to make them a viable motel...
Read moreIf i could give 0 stars i would. Definitely not worth $110 like the guy said but yet a day later my bank said it charged $125. (yet hotel websites say $90 and less???) Once you enter the room a musty smell hits you in the face and you realize the only thing stopping someone from getting in is a deadbolt that hardly doesnt wanna close right. You don't have much room to move around or be comfortable with. Taking a quick look around there's a chair with tattered fabric sitting in front of a desk where the sides and corners are severely scuffed and damaged. I walked into the bathroom just to see that they couldn't even be bothered to give us 2 full rolls of toilet paper one of which was less than a quarter of a roll already on. Nor were they bothered to put clean towels or washcloths!!!! They looked like they had been previously used to clean their counters with, one washcloth had a black mark across it about 2 inches long. Not to mention the numerous cigarette burns all over the bathroom sink and counter and a big burn on the bed frame. Went to lay down just to see that my pillowcase had stuff on it. Then after all this, the manager calls 10 minutes before we were out (we were in the process of getting our stuff) the manager calls to confirm that we need to leave by 11 then personally came into the room without warning to get the key. Absolutely worst motel I've ever been in, If any other hotel or motel had not been fully booked, this place wouldnt have even...
