I tried a chicken torta from Don Buyos and it was excellent. The bread was fresh and slightly toasted, giving a perfect balance of softness and crunch. Right away, it set the tone for a delicious sandwich. The chicken was tender and full of flavor, cooked just right so that every bite was juicy. Along with the meat, the avocado, lettuce, and salsa added freshness and a nice kick that made the flavors stand out even more. What made it great was how balanced it felt. It was filling but not too heavy, and every ingredient worked together instead of overpowering one another. It had the right mix of comfort and freshness. It’s satisfying, flavorful, and worth it if you want something that’s both hearty and tasty. I had a chicken torta recently, and it was absolutely delicious. From the first bite, the bread stood out — lightly toasted, soft inside, and strong enough to hold all the ingredients without falling apart. It gave the sandwich the perfect texture. The chicken itself was cooked perfectly. It was juicy, tender, and well-seasoned, making every bite flavorful. It wasn’t bland or dry, which is something that often makes or breaks a sandwich. The fresh toppings added another layer of taste. The creamy avocado, crisp lettuce, and ripe tomatoes balanced the richness of the chicken. A touch of salsa brought just the right amount of spice to tie everything together. Every bite felt balanced and satisfying. Nothing overpowered the other flavors, and the mix of textures made the torta even more enjoyable. It was hearty without being too heavy. The size was also just right. It was filling enough to feel like a complete meal, but it didn’t leave me feeling sluggish. That made it enjoyable from start to finish. Another highlight was the freshness of every ingredient. You could tell care was put into preparing it, and that made a big difference in the overall quality of the sandwich. It’s the kind of food that leaves you wanting to go back for it again. The flavors stay with you, and you start craving it soon after finishing. I definitely recommend trying a chicken torta. It’s flavorful, filling, and a great option if you want something satisfying and delicious. You won’t regret...
Read moreSo we visited the restaurant on May 16th, wanted to let everyone know about our experience because we won't be back. We got there at 7:30pm, with a party of four. There was a party of five and another party of three waiting. We all were waiting to put our name on the wait list, there wasn't a front host and the workers were running around like they were lost. They kept saying someone would be with us shortly which was understandable because they were busy, but while we were waiting a gentlemen came in and apparently knew either the owner or one of the top managers that worked there. They spoke and the next thing we all knew he grabbed the guy and his party of six and sat them in front of the three parties that were waiting to be seated or put their names on the waiting list. Apparently if you know someone that works there you can jump in front of everyone else waiting. We finally got seated after waiting another 15 minutes, we ordered our drinks my wife's coke was either flat or was coke zero which we told the wait staff and they didnt seem to care. The manager on duty was apparently our waiter which we only seen once after we got our drinks and ordered. We waited another hour before we got our food and by that time we had filled up on chips, salsa, and cheese dip, so we got our food to go. I went to talk to the manager about our experience and to let him know we wouldn't be back, he seemed to not care at all for what I had to say. Bill was over $80.00, so guess if you’re up gor just chips, salsa and alcohol you'll be happy here cause everything is below par, I wasn't the only one unhappy last night, I talk to another group that waited 2.5 hours to be seated and to get their food and they weren't busy when their...
Read moreLocated in the building formerly occupied by Fatz Cafe, Don Buyo’s is a new Mexican restaurant just off I-40, Exit 44. Personally, I won’t miss Fatz, which thumbed its nose at vegetarians and was of dubious quality. 🌮 The interior has been nicely refurbished and features art that’s modern and appealing. 🌮 Complimentary chips and salsa were quickly brought to our table - the chips were average, the salsa a tad above average. A free salsa bar was present and appreciated, although I didn’t care for some of the selections, which had an unwelcome sweet mayonnaise-like taste. The Roja packed a nice spicy punch. The Tomatillo was flavorful but too thin. 🌮 Vegetarian choices were sufficient but not innovative in any way. While my cheese enchilada was a bit above average, the chalupa tasted exactly like every other chalupa consumed since the dawn of time. The beans and rice were uninspired. 🌮 Service lacked personality but was efficient and courteous. 🌮 All in all, Don Buyo’s is a major improvement over the...
