Terrible!! DO NOT STAY HERE!! Look at other reviews, it’s not just me! ||||This has by far been the worst experience I have had staying at a hotel. I have stayed at this hotel in the past and had a decent experience so I decided to stay here again 2 years later. BIG MISTAKE!! The hotel staff is rude, combative, manipulative and outright shady. I booked this reservation through booking.com and paid the full reservation cost several months ahead. I called the hotel (super 8) a week before my reservation and the day before to ensure everything was set and there were no issues. Upon arrival, I was first told my credit card was declined… (shouldn’t have mattered, the amount was paid in full months ago) but then it turned into booking.com was the issue and they were not paying super 8 the credit for the reservation. Again, this was confusing how my credit card was being “declined” and providing this error message. I was then told I would need to cancel my reservation through booking.com and start a new reservation with Super 8 right then and there (book with the front desk staff in person) and that was the only option I was given. I spent over 20 minutes on the phone with booking.com to cancel, then found out that my refund would take 12-14 days. So I was expected to just come up with the money again, even though I would not be refunded for 2 weeks. With no other choice, I went through with it and was guaranteed by the super 8 staff that the price would be the same. However, it was not. There was an additional $15 charge added on each night that they claimed was due to a “tax increase” that became effective in the area 10/1. At this point, it became OBVIOUS that this was the intention all along, to collect the “additional tax fee.” I tried to fight the tax fee and was talked in circles .. claiming that it would have been added regardless, even if the booking.com reservation would have worked, etc. I do not believe that at all. They were so shady about the entire thing, changing their story constantly and becoming more and more aggressive once I started asking questions and figuring out what was really going on. There was a gentleman who was also trying to check in at the same time and attempted to help with my situation. He travels all over the world for business and uses booking.com 100% of the time. He has NEVER had an issue with the company, especially one of this nature and agreed that something sketchy was happening. Since it was after midnight and I had been traveling all day (and going at this for nearly an hour) I gave up and decided to look into it in the morning. ||From there, the problems with this hotel just kept getting worse. The room was not clean, there were stains all over the bathroom area (tub, toilet, sink), the chair in the room was covered in stains, the mini fridge did not shut all the way and comforters were covered in stains. There were multiple issues with the hotel staff providing necessities for the room. On my last night, one of the pillows had multiple black stains all over the pillowcase. I went to the front desk to ask for a replacement ( pillow or just pillowcase) and was told I could not get one until the manager returned which would be 2 hours later. I was going to bed soon and was not willing to wait 2 hours for a clean pillow to sleep on. Each bed in the room only came with one (very small) pillow, so I had to sleep without a pillow that night since I was not able to wait over 2 hours to get a clean one. ||The room also did not come with a hair dryer so I called the front desk to ask for one and was told they don’t have any. Later that day I spoke with a different employee who said they do have hair dryers, but I would need to come to the front desk to get one and provide a timely notice of when I needed it. At one point there were not enough towels in my room so I called the front desk to ask for towels, again told I would need to wait 30-45 minutes and come to the front desk to get them. ||||The “free breakfast” is a joke at best! There are 2 kinds of cereal, Frosted Flakes and Raisin Bran, both of witch were very stale. There was a waffle maker, but the batter was cut with so much water, the waffles would not cook. Multiple times I had to throw away the waffle as the batter was not thick enough to cook properly and burned. There were biscuits and gravy, but the biscuits were still partly frozen and the gravy was reused from day to day as you could see the layers of dried gravy on the inside of the crock pot even when it was first set out. There were a few bananas in a bowl, but they were always old and and badly bruised. The milk, orange juice and syrup were so watered down it barely tasted like those items. It became clear after day one that the hotel is significantly cutting corners to save money. Between the lack of adequate offerings at the “free breakfast”, the lack of adequate necessities provided in the rooms, and the manipulative, conning behavior of getting me to pay them directly for the stay with an increased price is unacceptable. I hardly ever write reviews, but I feel strongly that others need to know about my experience in hopes that it will help prevent some of the same, horrible and...
Read moreThis was the worst hotel experience that I've ever had. Chose this place because it was close to our job site and took a chance. When I checked in, I was asked how long I would be staying and I said 3 nights. The Manager or clerk told me she was giving me the rate for 3 nights which was the online rate that I had seen earlier so I gave my credit and card and agreed. I didn't realize that I would be charge up front for the 3 nights. My stay was so miserable that I cut my trip short by one night and went to check out at 8 am on the 3rd day and was told that I was charged up front and, even though I wasn't staying the 3rd night, I had to pay. Typically, if you don't stay the entire time and check out early you don't pay... in most reputable hotels that is. The place is super old but there are some paint jobs that make it look okay in the pictures. Everything is cheap and old and it smells old. The bed was uncomfortable an so were the linens. The AC unit was incredibly old and it ran the whole night making a lot of noise just to keep the room cool. I didn't sleep well the two nights I was there and exhausted hence the reason for the early check out. The wi-fi was almost non-usable. There were a couple times that I briefly got a signal. I used my phone to tether most of the time. I knew I was taking a chance here because the rate was good but the room sucked for the rate. I would not recommend this place to anyone. We will continue to look for a reasonably priced hotel in the area that my crew can stay for a long...
Read moreAbsolutely terrible. Walked in at 1130 am. Talked to the woman at the front desk. Asked her if they had a room available and she said abssolutely yes. Discussed price and it would be cheaper to book online. Asked if that was ok and she said yes it's fine. Asked about any deposits or fees or anything I should know about and she said no fees or deposits or anything special at all. Ok I'll be back at 3 o'clock at check-in. Immediately booked online and everything was fine. Get there at 3 to check in and "we have no more doubles left" I said what? I made a reservation and was just in here and you had plenty available. She says nope none. I say, ok what else do you have available and she says nothing. We are booked and full! So now I am stuck in a city i don't live in with all of my money booked on a room I reserved and paid for with no place to stay. Then I get in touch with Priceline. I am a vip member and that means nothing I now know. They call and tell me the crap hotel says I'm on a no check in list. I have literally been staying at two different Super 8s all owned by Wyndham for weeks and even stayed in one last night after the Super 8 in Athens lied and took my money! Priceline says we'll it's probably because you are a local. A local from counties away? Why would there have been no mention of that on Super 8s website, Priceline site or even in the actual hotel? This place is already dirty and they obviously have something against me or people who...
