Probably 4.5ish. We had the deluxe room which was good space for the price, however the layout made no sense. The queen bed right as you entered had a chaise couch on the opposite side creating a narrow walkway. The online pictures don’t explain the room at all. The TVs were nice - large, LG, smart TVs. Seriously prior guests, learn to log out of your Hulu account. WiFi was spotty on the crowded days. The room had zero amenities to go with the kind of kitchenette. We left some plastic cutlery, paper towel, and bowls for the next guests. The noise was my biggest complaint. The room location was right by the stairs, the refrigerator wouldn’t stop ticking, and the bathroom fan sounded like an airplane taking off. The young lady working the front desk was very kind.

After checking accommodations in Death Valley and finding the prices to be utterly outrageous, I expanded the search and discovered this little gem. Simple, clean, reasonably priced rooms, very nice staff and just minutes from Rhyolite and the "Hell's Gate" park entrance. This inn is absolutely the quietest motel we've ever experienced - so much so that, if you're used to a bit of noise while you sleep, you might want a white noise app or sound machine. Good dining options close by, and gas wasn't too pricey. We'd been told that there is a herd of wild burros that roams the town, but unfortunately we missed them. Beatty is a really cute and welcoming little town, and Death Valley Inn will be our first choice for a return visit.

We stayed one night at Death Valley Inn on our way into the park. Staff were friendly at check in and the room was clean and nice. Not too much in Beatty, but they recommended Smokin J's, which was great barbecue. There were also some wild burros trimming the palm trees outside our room, which was pretty cool. Also, a great place to catch sunrise and sunset. Not much for breakfast, but there are a few places in Beatty to get something more substantial. Overall, a very nice stay and would definitely stay here again if in the area.

There is a huge sign near to this motel that says 'superfast broadband'. You will soon find out that this is only the first of many things that are not true about this establishment. The lobby/reception is about the nicest part of the motel/RV park. The rooms are motel style, with access directly outside on 2 levels across 3 buildings. The rooms are of a reasonable size with a separate room with a shower/toilet. Washhand basins are in the bedroom part. There is a central light switch near the door, with no bedside lights. There is a coffee maker and very noisy fridge. Toiletries indicate that this is part of a 3 establishment group in Beatty. Wifi is available, but is too slow to make any decent connection and kept dropping out. There was animal feces outside my room, of which some had been there for sometime. There seems to be some work being carried out, which started at 7am in the room above ours. As I checked in I did hear that lighting was also being replaced, and can only conclude that the room we were in had been completed, as it was a very bright central LED light (that attracted moths as you came in at night). The TV is not showing HD channels and although the billboard says HBO, it's only a single non-HD channel. I did speak to the reception desk about the wifi and the animal feces. On the wifi she said 'what do you expect, it's free' and for the animal feces 'oh'. In both cases it seemed that this was a stock answer. If you have to stay in Beatty there is little choice. It is close to Death Valley, which is the only plus. However, given the choice again I would stay further...

Had quite an experience here last summer. We arrived early at around 3pm and found that our room was not ready. We were told to wait half an hour for room 104. I asked for another room and they gave us 110. So far no problem and we hit the pool. After a while I had to use the bathroom and it turned out that the toilet wouldn't flush. It seems to be something usual for American toilets since the exit opening is quite narrow. No big deal, I decided to head to the front office to get a plunger and get rid of the problem. When I got at the front desk there turned out to be a French family that was just being relocated to the last available free room because of the same problem that I had. When they left and it was my turn an Engish lady came in behind me and told that she had the same problem, only in her room the poo was coming up in the bath tub. She was in room 104, the one that was not ready for us when we arrived at 3pm (pffff). But .......... there were no more available rooms and in the whole of Beatty everything was fully booked. So in the end (11.30 pm) I was given air refreshener and a pile of towels to seal of the bathroom door and the assurance from the manager that the room was free of charge for the night. I turned out that the sewer pipes from the whole south wing was blocked and I am sure that a lot of people were complaining eather that night or the next morning. But we decided to leave at 6 am, because of the room and because of the 120 F expected heat in...

I have traveled all over the world for both pleasure and business and this was one of the worst experiences.

I spoke with a representative on the phone after they had a hard time with my credit card and told them worse case I could just pay cash when i got there and they said "yes, don't call back with the new card just pay when you get here" so I showed up with cash and they wouldn't accept it without a $150 additional deposit because I was paying cash. This might be their policy however they didn't say that on the phone so I was a hard presses as I didn't have that extra cash on me.

I finally got the desk clerk to get me in touch with the manager Misty and she told me to go stay at the Motel 6. Once we got our room it was on the second floor, I have 4 small children and a mother with a bad knee so I requested that they put us on the first floor, the desk clerk was so old that it took him around 15 minutes to change the room.

While I was waiting there was another gentleman in the lobby needing a remote for the TV and the desk clerk gave him one without a battery door on it, and he said to the guest it's not my fault this is how it was returned to me.

I will never stay here again and i will never recommend this place to anyone. I hope upper management reads this and reprimands Misty, you shouldn't ever instruct a guest to go stay somewhere else.

Save the hassle and stay at the Motel 6, that's what they wanted me...
