My family and I booked accomodations at the Woodspring Suites Beaverton while I fulfilled a contract in the area. Our stay was for 3 months and this are the things we noticed.
The hotel is new, but cheaply executed. The heating/air unit in our room stopped working after 1 month. I contacted Cori, who played the role of manager and repair technician. He was unable to fix the unit for the remainder of our stay.
The weekly rate for the hotel was $498.40. However, myself and many other visitors encountered phantom charges in the middle of the night to any debit card or credit card on file. When this issue was presented to Michelle or Cori, they feigned confusion. To be direct, it seemed the hotel is operating at a deficit and this required unauthorized transactions to maintain their overhead cost.
We checked out on October 10th. However, neither Michelle or Cori completed our checkout. After we checked-out, on October 16th, they attempted to continue to charge us for another week that we were not there. When I contacted Michelle, she stated that Cori was responsible and she did not know where our reservation was located to properly check us out. Keep in mind, this is a week after we checked out and moved into our home.
The location also seems to exist as a half-way house or shelter. Half of the costumers seemed to be senior citizens and others on disability/section 8 etc, and the remainder of the customers were former inmates and indentured laborers. A poor place for families.
I was told by Michelle that I would be contacted about the unauthorized charges, that occurred after we check out. But, I'm not holding my breathe. This location seems to be holding on by a thread and needs to do business in bad faith. Keep that in mind while making accomodations. Or at the very least, keep your debit/credit cards...
Read moreWe were very disappointed to discover that there were no kitchen essentials, I guess we didn't study the fine print to understand that, but honestly.....not even a cup to get a drink out of??? No icemaker in the hotel, and no way to make ice in the freezer in the room? The pull out bed had no bedding or pillows. There was ONE roll of toilet paper for three of us for three nights. NO HAND TOWELS is ridiculous!!! When I asked about them the clerk said we should just use our washcloth. The bath towels were tiny and inadequate. But, by far....the worst thing about this place was there was NO HOT WATER in the shower!! It was clear the lever had been purposely adjusted to stop in the straight up position not allowing the lever to be turned left toward the hot water side. After we all had to endure a lukewarm shower I asked at the desk about it and was told we would need to exit the room for their repair person to adjust it. So we did. The next morning? Even colder!!! That alone, I believe warrants a full refund. OH.......and to top it off....a crazy lady shouting profanities was in the parking lot and the desk clerk solved the problem by...bringing her into the hotel to be with all of us. How is this right? How is this any way to run a brand new hotel. How is this place worthy of the Choice hotel brand? It is not. I fully expect a representative to contact me for a partial credit. Cold showers are not what I paid...
Read moreI fully agree with all the reviews about this being a VERY basic room. There is literally nothing inside it besides a bed and kitchenette. Do NOT expect anything to cook with, clean with, make coffee or even a plastic cup for a drink of water, or anything like that. It not a big deal, I don’t need much. I do however need internet that works at a decent speed. The basic internet is completely useless. I spent the $8 for a week of internet and I am not get speeds that enable viewing of an online video. I take that back, I did for a day. I emailed the manager and he told me to call tech support which I did. 20 mins on the phone and it worked after he rebooted the access point. Now the next day it’s back to crap. Best speed I ever saw was 7mbps download. Normal is 3mbps. This isn’t acceptable in 2025 for a paid service. I do not recommend this hotel, I did not want to leave a bad review but I have had no recourse with emailing management. Hopefully they will see this and address it.
