Michaels — Local services in Beaverton

I came in a few months ago to purchase a product priced more at Micheals than at Walmart. I had looked on their website and verified that the company did indeed price match with Walmart. I found that they do if the product was in stock (which it was) and the exact same (which it also was). On top of the price matching, I applied a coupon code which cut my total down by nearly $10. A few days later I visited another Micheals location in Clackamas and did the same thing with the same product, just a different coupon, again with no issues. Both times the employees were very helpful in assisting me in saving money, and very friendly, showing interest in my project. However, just a few weeks ago I received another coupon, so I again returned to this location in Beaverton, expecting to be able to do the same price matching and coupon combo. I got the product, brought it to the cashier, and immediately was told that Micheal does not price match with Walmart. I pulled up the policy and list of stores that they do price match with on my phone to show her, and she huffed, radioed the manager to verify, and then reluctantly applied price-matched price. I had two other products that I was also getting, but I noticed when the cashier scanned my coupon, it was only applied to those two items. I asked, and she told me the coupon could not be applied. I explained to her that I had done the same thing, with the same product twice before, one time at the same location. She started interrupting me with harsh "NO. we don't do that. NO. Nope." I was shocked. I don't have a problem with them not being able to do both price matching and a coupon, I just had an issue with how I was addressed. I am probably 30 years younger than the two workers I worked with on-top of everything else, which makes it even more shocking that the fully grown cashier (and manager) would have been so incredibly rude. I contacted customer service at a company level and was told I would receive an apology letter within 48 hours. it has been almost a month and I still have received no such note. Let me start by saying I frequently come to this location. I bring my young daughter, who is really into art, to this location, and I have never been treated how I was treated today. I was using the self checkout and after scanning all of my items I remembered I saw a coupon on the website prior to coming to the store. I go to the website on my phone to find the coupon and one of the employees rushes over to me and starts questioning if I knew what I was doing. She did not ask if I needed or wanted help, which I was not looking for. She was very aggressive, seemed as though she was rushing me to find the coupon on my phone and then in a rude tone stated “I can help you if you just let me,” then proceed to touch my phone with her fingers, multiple times. Again, I was not looking for help, I didn’t ask for her help and she didn’t ask me if I needed help. I was in shock that she was speaking to me the way she was and that she invaded my personal space by touching my phone without asking. There were other people using the self check stations at the time and she didn’t approach any of them but me, the only woman of color checking out at the time. She also made a condescending comment about most of my items being on sale, which most of them were since I was mainly there to get last minute Halloween stuff, however, her comment was unnecessary. This place is clean the staff well some are friendly some are o.k and one lady is down right rude every single time i have been here, she is short with people who are hard of hearing going so far as to tell me to take my head phones off that it is rude to wear them while talking to her i had to tell her that it is my hearing aids reg aids r being repaired had to use different hearing device but did she apologize no she huffed but other than the staff place is pretty theres space between your spots with trees and nicely groomed grounds love the pool,the showers stalls are nice and private very clean and best of all hot water one of the better showers stalls been to beside roamers rest they have better bathrooms to take showers but you dont get a lovelypl to park ur home so i do recommend staying here rates are ok we paid 45 a night so that wasnt bad and we had two spots so 90 a night not too bad. They have a laundry mat prices were not bad much cheaper than reg laundry mat the machines are huge and they do clean your clothes dryers are great they dry all your clothes the first time you dont have to keep feeding the machine thannnk god they even have an iron n ironing board rec room nice n big they got a huge t.v i mean huge two of them i wish i had been here for super bowl.
