I typically do not choose a Choice Hotel, however, after reading many reviews on TripAdvisor about this hotel, and the high-quality of service, we decided to give it a try for one night while we were in the area. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint! I was pleasantly surprised, actually shocked really. |The hotel is basically one level living. There is a ground level hotel room rooms on the back of the hotel, but from the parking lot, everything is level entry and handicap accessible.|You do have to check in at the front desk as the Choice app does not give you that option. The main check-in building has the breakfast area which did not provide a choice of hot items for breakfast other than a waffle maker. But all of the items were the usual and they were good. The food attendant was attentive to our needs and also sometimes work the front desk.||Our room was in a separate building that was all interconnected via outside walkways. Our room was actually quiet. You cannot really hear anyone on the sides of you. And good thing there was nobody above you or below you.|The room was clean and the sink counter was a bit higher than standard height, which if you are short, might be a bit difficult to lean over into the sink to wash your face.|But other than that, everything was comfortable, the bed was comfortable, the toilet was a good height and not low to the ground and the television reception came in perfect and everything was great. I was so surprised and happy that we picked up this hotel.||We would totally stay at this hotel again when in the Bedford/Altoona area. Altoona was only like 30 minutes away and we were looking to book something in Altoona for the fall leaves viewing, but everything was sold out and so happy that we...
Read moreThis is a nice hotel. It has a microwave, a coffee pot, and a mini-fridge, and all three work correctly. They have pet-friendly rooms for a $25 a night fee. The pet-friendly rooms are away from the other rooms, so you don't have to worry about someone complaining about a barking dog. The hotel also provides a complimentary continental breakfast, which I hear good things about, but I don't know personally because I didn't go to it. The beds are incredibly comfortable, the pillows are soft, and the comforters are comfy and big enough to cover the entire bed and then some. There is a TV with cable, but no streaming access. Across from the rooms, a pet relief area is provided. It's pleasant with space to roam a little and picnic tables; it's also away from the main road, so if your pet gets loose, you don't have to worry about it getting hit by a car (from the road, there's still the parking lot). The staff is excellent, from check-in to check-out and housekeeping. They were all friendly, helpful, and delightful to encounter.|Within a 5-minute drive, there are places to eat nearby, including some fast food options (Taco Bell, Arby's, McDonald's, and Wendy's), a Pizza Hut, Subway, two sit-down steak restaurants, and two gas stations, one of which is a Sheetz. There is a local Italian restaurant nearby, but I don't know where exactly. Entrance to the Turnpike is also less than 5 minutes away. A Dollar General is within five miles on Route 30. Old Bedford Village is less than 10 minutes away. They have an outside pool, but it was closed for the season in September. |Overall, this is a pleasant hotel—nothing really fancy but a reasonable price for a nice room and a good location. I highly recommend staying...
