😊: This was our first stay at the AmericInn in Belle Fourche as it often is booked when we come through for work trips. I will attempt to stay here each time I am in the area on future trips. The breakfast is amazing! They have this lovely woman who makes you an omelet or waffles and they have so many choices of breakfast foods it’s really unheard of for a hotel. The interesting part is that at least when I booked it, I didn’t have to choose a rate that included breakfast as every room seemed to have that option (not sure if that is always the case but it was for our dates of travel). The pool/spa here is nice, clean and the rooms were equally so. The staff (two of which we interacted with are the actual owners) are so friendly and responsive. I met a gentleman who travels for work in the parking lot and he volunteered without me asking his opinion that this is “the” place to stay in the area.. 😢: One minor thing was that my elderly father (a mechanical engineer with who previously sold heating systems) staying with me noticed that the wall heater wasn’t working in our room (Fan worked/heater didn’t). It was December but the place is so well insulated, it really didn’t matter as the room was comfortable without the additional heat (in fact I prefer that for sleeping) so I asked them NOT to fix it while were staying there. ;-) The amusing thing was that the owner heard that something wasn’t perfect and I could tell he was super eager to fix it yet I made him wait until we departed. This shows the kind of attention they give to this wonderful hotel that they constructed...

Honest review- We stayed here during our South Dakota road trip and had a mostly pleasant experience. The room was clean, neat, and well-equipped with all the basic amenities—nothing was missing. It was also conveniently close to the Geographic Center of the Nation Monument, which we enjoyed visiting.

Breakfast was great! It included a full American spread with scrambled eggs, waffles, sausage, and more. A special shoutout to Marilyn, who personally prepared delicious cheese and ham omelets to order right when guests walked into the dining area. That personal touch made the morning feel warm and welcoming.

However, we did face one serious issue that needs urgent attention. While the bathroom itself was clean, the bathtub had an extremely slippery, glossy surface—almost like a polished washbasin. My husband stepped in to take a bath and immediately slipped with a loud thud. Tried to stand up and again slipped. Thankfully, he wasn’t seriously hurt, but there was absolutely nothing inside the tub to hold onto or prevent a fall.

Later, we realized there was a rolled-up bathmat kept in the bathroom, but without any signs or instructions, we assumed it was optional. Only after the incident did we realize how essential it was. We are a young couple and this shook us—imagine if it had happened to a senior!

Hotel management, please take this seriously: Add a clear sign in the bathroom advising guests to use the bathmat before stepping into the tub. It’s a simple fix that can prevent serious accidents.

Overall, a good stay with great service—but safety should never be an...

I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for the incredible experience I had at your hotel. Having stayed at numerous hotels in both New York City and Las Vegas, I can confidently say that your establishment ranks among the absolute best I’ve ever experienced.

From the moment we arrived, it was clear that your hotel goes above and beyond to ensure guests feel welcome and cared for. The hospitality was exceptional—Gary, the owner, and every member of your staff made us feel like family, and that’s a rare experience in today’s world.

The décor was not only beautiful but incredibly thoughtful and unique. It exceeded all expectations and truly elevated the atmosphere of the entire property. The facilities were also outstanding—well-maintained, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing stay.

A special mention to the woman responsible for breakfast! Not only was the breakfast itself delicious, but she went out of her way to make me an omelet, which was a thoughtful and personal touch I’ll never forget. It was that kind of attention to detail that really set your hotel apart.

The only downside was that our stay was a bit short—simply because of the drive to a few of our destinations. If it weren’t for that, I would have gladly stayed much longer. Nonetheless, I will definitely be returning and recommending your hotel to anyone I know.

Thank you again for making our stay so memorable. You have created something truly special, and I can’t wait to visit...

The best hotel in the area, this upgrade from the standard Holiday inn offers great service and personal attention. The rooms are very clean and upgraded with a comfortable bed soft linens and your choice of pillows. Their morning breakfast is hot and fresh and DIANE makes an incredible personal omelette to your taste. they have fresh rolls and choices of bacon sausage or ham along with fresh roasted potatoes and waffles. Everything we needed was in the room including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and ironing board, and a iron that actually works. we use the pool area every day, and the kids loved it. There is even a outdoor grill in a outside patio area if you want to cook something yourself. Even their computer and printer is included free unlike more expensive hotels, who try to make money off of you.
